Tit for tat, Phrank. Nobody said you had to play, history will prove me out and you wrong but whatever floats your boat.

I have three! How many boats do have? NEVERMIND. I don't care about you anymore.

Cheerio, brother! I even saved my best blades in case you did want to continue playing. Thanks for allowing me the courtesy of not wasting my best weaponry on you!

Which of course is unfortunate. I don't wish that on anyone but there music is crappy. Alexisonfire, Rush, Threedays grace > the tragically hip. If Gord Downie wasn't sick they would be out of the headlines just as they were before they broke the news..
I broke in my Sony Walkman on Rush cassettes, so I know for a fact that TTH will eclipse the band you hold so dearly.

I am not even Canadian, so I really have no horse in this either, brother. So, enjoy ur 3DazeGracie and whatever!

I'm in the U.S. We get nary a Gord headline of any sort from any Gord, gourd or whatever else rhymes with that fine word! It's a popular nome de plume in your fine country after all.

I'm done arguing with you pea-brains. Get a life already. I was only here to share something positive and you had to go shit on it.

Hope your bowel movement was an enjoyable one. At least it's all here for posterity sake.

Sure smells like so much turd....

Dude, you're taking this way to personal.

No one is running the Hip down here except Solitarysoldier whose comments I disagree with. Everyone has a favorite but you stated in your original post "Canada's BEST rock band ever". You claim to be a "Calc freak" which I assume means you like to look at the numbers to measure the credibility of your claim. OK so let's do that:

Neil Young - 42 albums, 35 Juno nominations, 7 Juno awards, 24 Grammy nominations, 4 Grammy awards, countless #1 albums and songs both in Canada and globally, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Inductee ............... oh did I forget to mention these stats are just his own band.

What do you think happens when you add in his Buffalo Springfield and CSN&Y numbers.

OK dude your turn ...... what do you got ?????

Keep your concentration high and your angles low!

Despite the high cost of living, it's still very popular.

Good luck with the number crunching, b'ys!

IMHO any attempt to quantify art is doomed to failure, especially when attempting to present an either/or question. While I love the Hip I also worship at the altar of Neil. There is plenty of room for both, or indeed for neither if such is your taste.

Enjoy the music you enjoy. Don't worry about the stuff you don't.

I will however note the shocking omission of the Rheostatics and Skydiggers from this discussion...

It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.

Totally agree. I've never been a big fan of awards or even music charts. As the old saying goes "art is in the eye of the beholder". Not familiar with Rheostatics of Skydiggers but rock on .......

If you can't handle someone saying they don't enjoy your favourite band and that they suck you've got some issues fanboy #1.

Secondly pea brain is just offensive to me and the other pea brains you've mentioned.

Your comments remind me of what a 14 year old girl would say if I said that Justin Bieber sucked.

We don't all have the same taste in music. Fact of life.

The hip suck??? I feel like I'm back in high school freezing my butt off in the smoking compound all over. Sounds a lot like a comment one of my stoner friends would have said, with a poop eating grin just to piss me off. My comment back would have been, You suck buddy!! Except it wouldn't have been The hip, it would have been a comment about Weezer.......... back when they were good...... the blue album........ oh man that was a good album.

I think you got what you wanted with that comment Scott.
