:popcorn::popcorn: might run outta popcorn on this one.

Trump is a builder. Only he can build a big tent and then fleece everyone in the process.
Believe me!
I cut the cable 4 years ago and refused to buy an antenna for local channels. Didn't see last week and won't see this week which means I can spend quality time in my wood shop. :p
I can't wait for all the free stuff Hillary is going to give America!
Oh Yeah!! Free stuff, I bet you are one of the FSA, not that there is Anything wrong with that. :nj
 Statists and Liberals Baiting, what are you trying to catch? :nono: I think there may be No fishing signs posted here about's.
:) You, ahem, Gent's have a Wonderful Weekend.
I was of course been sarcastic. I'm a self made, successful man, I don't think I'm the demographic Hillary Clinton is counting on:nono::)
Saddly, I haven’t voted, FOR a president for a long, long time…
The older I get (46). The more cynical I have become. But that has not lead to apathy. Critical thinking is not stressed or taught in our government run schools.
Important history is slanted, altered, purposely portrayed out of context. Or worse totally removed from the textbooks. Our children use every day in school.
If you think I am incorrect ask anyone under 25 about the Federalist Papers. And wait for their answer.
Ask them if they studied the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution. And discussed and dissected their meaning. How the men that wrote and debated them viewed the world. Viewed our responsibilities as "Citizens".
George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson. All presidents. All couldn't wait to get out of DC and back to their farms. Today once the politicians get to Washington. They sell their soul to stay and most become richer in the process.
I do feel that we are at a point in history that will be looked back upon. Not because we have a Trump/Hillary election. But that we have/had a choice between choosing continuing the path laid by a Svengali Socialist. And trying to turn away from it.
November will tell us all if the "takers" are in the majority. Bernie and Hillary are counting on their promises of "free college, healthcare, phones, housing etc. To put them over the top.
None of the things that they are running on are enumerated in the Constitution. They are all perverted interpretations made possible by the progressive assertion that it (Constitution) is a "living" document. And the founders couldn't have foreseen modern times. So the document they wrote doesn't need to be amended. A purposely very difficult thing to do.
Instead a president can issue executive orders. Or congress can write and pass laws. And hope a Supreme Court will "find" a way to interpret them (laws and EO's) and declare them "Constitutional". The ruling that Obamacare is Constitutional. I believe will go down in history as just as bad as the Dred Scott decision.
BTW I am not a huge fan of Trump. It's just that I have no doubt that Hillary will appoint Justices to the Supreme Court. That will wipe away the last protections that our Constitution provides us. This will affect all Americans in a substantial and concrete way for generations.
That alone is enough for me to be against her.
Rant over. Ken
I've said this before but I'm still astounded folks like or want to vote for Trump. Hearing him described as a blue collar billionaire or "he's one of us" or he can't be bought when he himself bought the nomination. What is obvious is the American people have lost all ability for critical thinking and are easily brainwashed.
I'm not saying Clinton is any gem either.
The real crying shame and astounding fact is how in this country we find ourselves with one these two as the next President. That says it all about our political system.
Maybe the Klingons will come and save us all.
Not sure the Klingons would be "saving us". Conquering might be the outcome.
Their women were not all that attractive. Don't think Captain Kirk even shacked up with a Klingon. And he had almost zero standards.
The philosopher in me says "salvation best comes from within."
I look to, and hope that the youth of America rediscover our history and embrace the ideals that made and make this country I love.
Not sure they will put their cell phones down long enough to wake up.
How anyone could throw a vote in for Hillary is beyond me, SHE IS A CRIMINAL.
Donald Trump, is Not a Criminal, drinker or drug user.
The choice is Very Clear for me, especially since Trump put HIS $$ where his Mouth is, Cruz, not even an consideration, ever.
Last but Not Least, there is NO WAY to vote your way out of what is coming- My wake up to You.
As you noted big tent is some ancient stuff, we now live in the time of the big wall.
We may not even need to get those jobs back from China - with such a great wall there may be more than enough jobs to cover everybody who has had theirs taken away by the Clintons and Obama.
I have it on good authority, after the wall is built he will build a great Ark and put two of everything on it (especially his money) that way we will be prepared for what's coming.
I thought the convention lacked a little polish, but that's to be expected from someone coming in from the outside.
But when we have so much perceived disconnect from the elite political class to everyday people, it's not surprising. Donald Trump is a manifestation, a lightning rod for something that has been growing for years, and as the saying goes, it's much easier for the mob to get a new elite than it is for the elite to get a new mob.:)
When I read Washingtons farewell address of 17 Sept. 1796 he states that he had prepared one (farewell address) four years prior. At the end of his first term. That suggests to me that he wanted to end his service to the country and return to his estate/farm in Mt. Vernon. Not continue in public office.
During his presidency he designed a 16 sided building that was used to thrash wheat. An anecdotal fact that I believe shows his thoughts were not on gaining more power and keeping himself in power. But in fact desired to relinquish power and return to his home. One of the reasons he was unique. My 2 cent.
It might not have been the best example to lump those three men together.
I should have been more thoughtful in citing examples.
Honestly this situation is exactly the one that I feared most when the candidates were announced. Truthfully I just knew Hillary was getting the Democrat nomination. And my biggest fear was that Trump would actually managed to snake in and steal the Republican nomination.
I'll never in my life understand how every single election the 2 candidates I want to see in office least are the 2 that are chosen.
I've been guilty of telling friends in the past that a vote for a 3rd party is more or less a vote for whatever candidate they don't want to see in office, but I seriously think I'll be voting for Gary Johnson. I can't in good conscience cast a vote for either of the other 2 knuckleheads.
Trump for president and Michele Obama as the 1st lady would be my choice.
Mrs Trump and Mrs Obama apparently share a speech writer. Michele is the cleverer of the two, she might be able to talk some sense into Donald.
It's a toss-up between Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck-I may write-in a protest vote for Pluto. Between these two, that's all I've got.
>Walks off muttering, drops the mic, hangs his head to cry.
"LETTER TO THE RNC (An updated version) A MUST READ:
"We don't care if the guy swears... or how many times he's been married...or who he voted for, or what his income tax return shows. We want the problems fixed. Yes he's an egomaniac, but we don't care. We know he's not a racist, or bad to women, or all the other things the liberal media is trying to label him with. We know he's raised a good family, and that says a lot about him.
The country is a mess because politicians suck, the Republican Party is two faced & gutless, and illegals are everywhere and Muslims are openly trying to hurt this country and make the civilized world adjust to them. We want it all fixed!
We don't care that Trump is crude, we don't care that he insults people, we don't care that he has changed positions, we don't care that he fights with Megan Kelly, Rosie O'Donnell, and so many of the elected establishment. We don't care that Rubio, Cruz, Ryan, the Bush's, and so many other top old and new Republicans refuse to endorse him for their own selfish reasons, and we know what they are. We don't care that he doesn't know the name of some Muslim terrorists, we don't care that he tried a few businesses that didn't work out.
This country is weak, bankrupt, our enemies are making fun of us, we are being invaded by illegals, we are becoming a nation of victims, where every Tom, Dick, and Harry is a special group with special rights to a point where we don't even recognize the country we were born and raised in, AND WE JUST WANT IT FIXED. And TRUMP is the only guy who seems to understand what the people want.
We're sick of politicians, sick of the Democratic and Republican Party. We're angry about the Iran deal, the budget, treatment of Israel, military weakness, lobbyists, special interests, overpaid politicians with their self serving bills and back room deals, trade deals, loss of jobs, manipulated economic numbers, businesses fleeing, and even the phony pay for play Clinton Foundation.
Americans are no longer going to be fooled, and the movement is out to change the direction we're taking. Trump may not be a saint, but he doesn't have lobbyist money holding him, he doesn't have political correctness restraining him, and all you know is that he has been very successful, a good negotiator, he has built a lot of things, he's flexible, and he's also not a politician. And he says he'll fix it. And we believe him because he is too much of an egotist to be proven wrong or looked at and called a liar.
Public service has become elected greed. This may be our only chance to have a non-politician, despite his flaws, try and correct the mess, at least for 4 years. We must take the shot, because the consequences of putting Hillary Clinton in office are frightening. There is a tidal wave happening, and its going to overcome much of what's happened to this country......
TRUMP for president !!!!!!!!!
Hypocrisy...
Liberals always seem to be bragging they are the smartest people in the room, right up until they get caught with their "Finger on the Scales" "Hand in the cookie jar" "With their own Server" "Cheating" "Lying" "In Court" or "Under Indictment"
Then all of a sudden they "Can't remember anything or don't know anything about it" :P
And it is all somebody else's fault in 3-2-1 GO
So, recently I re-habbed a house. I had some ideas of what I want done, a bit on the unconventional side, but not too unusual, like a sink in the garage and convert the rafters in the garage for storage and so it could be insulated.
The property was vacant and we planned on changing out all the doors and windows, new kitchen and baths, replacing all the flooring, re-wiring and installing LED lighting, replacing a lot of drywall and re texturing all the walls and ceilings, and we were prepared to pay, so pretty much, it was a blank canvas.
Contractor after contractor came by and told me, why this or that, could not be done, code, permits, cost, too much work…
Then one guy came by, listened to what we wanted, nodded then said this is what you need to do and this is how it can be done and it will cost about this much.
Who do you think we hired? And it came out great, permitted, to code and under budget.
Perhaps that is the attraction to Trump, he is at least willing to try, that he has a proven track record of getting things done… doesn’t hurt.
Thanks Gugi for attempting to address my original question. I guess it's just too difficult for everyone to stay away from picking sides. I really was serious about this question. It actually has a lot to do with Gssixgun letter below. Why do we keep supporting groups who have shown to continuously lie to us over significant time without penalty?
Gssixgun, Although you may not believe me I actually agree with the majority of your comments in this letter. The only question I have for you is would you vote for him if was running as an Democrat? Or a Libertarian? Or any other party affiliation? And what about the congressional members etc......
Before you answer let me ask another question. How can any of us expect to see real change. I mean the kind of change your outlining in your letter. If the people we put in charge to make these changes are part of an historical hypocrisy of organized control then can it really happen. I think not. Regardless of how much one would claim to be unaffected by the tentacles, when you lay with dogs you wake up with fleas.
3 thoughts: Strict 1 term limit for all politicians, abolish the party system and remove the money. Each politician would have the freedom to represent the opinions and values of their constituents and then spend 100% of their time in office working on what would benefit the country.
Now that's a system I could get behind but do "we the people" have the balls to make it happen"?
Toronto Canada
Doesn't really matter much what you think :p
Sorry,,, but that is simply me being honest, I look though these threads and realize that most of the people posting are either not from the US, or are only here to make money in the US.
So about 80% of all your opinions mean zero nada zip IMHO..
As a Libertarian
Gary Johnson is simply a fruitloop and would NEVER get my vote.. If there were a real Libertarian Candidate running I would consider it..
I actually like Trump, and I really like the fact that he is NOT a Republican per se, the appeal to me is that all of the "fringe" hates him,, The Far Right and the Loony Left..
To give you perspective I liked Rand Paul but I was part of a small minority, and in my state I never even got the option to vote for him in the primary...
To me it is very simple
Hillary is worse then Obama
Johnson is a Joke
Yep I am voting Trump all the way...
Or simply read the last paragraph of the letter I posted,,,
"Public service has become elected greed. This may be our only chance to have a non-politician, despite his flaws, try and correct the mess, at least for 4 years. We must take the shot,"
a Non-Politician I will take that chance
PS:
I am really beginning to wonder just how many write in Votes Bernie Sanders will end up getting from the Progressive end of the Democratic party...
I am quite certain that the american political system with all of its money and corruption is far tougher than a guy with the maturity and self-control of a 12 year old and the attention span of a 4 year old. As far as I can tell his singular skill is making money by pandering to the lowest in human nature.
The only candidate in this race with serious grit and the ability to get what she really wants is Clinton. Of course, if she were Republican she'd be hated on the left and loved on the right. That's why modern presidential elections in USA are won on the margins and why Clinton continues to have the advantage regardless of all the wishful thinking.
The truth is that regular people aren't going to change their lot or the american politics by voting Trump, or Clinton, or Johnson, or Stein or whatever they write in. The only way to see significant difference is to start voting for competence and character over identity and money in the humdrum races and sustain it over a generation or two.
I don't know if Trump can fix anything. I've been vocal about the fact that he was NOT my first choice. But at least he says he wants to fix these problems. He's at least telling me that he too sees them AS problems. And that is more than I can get from Clinton. I'd rather have an idiot in the White Hose that flips a coin for every major decision he makes than someone that I truly believe is acting against the best interests of the country. An idiot with a coin is likely to be right half the time. But, more important, Trump has successfully provided that republican flushing of the toilet. We needed a guy like him to kick out mealy mouthed idiots that can't seem to deliver on anything. And Trump is showing the rest of republicans HOW to take the fight to the opposition. Instead of resting and watching Hillary on TV tonight, he's out there in front of the mic giving her hell.
My fear with Trump is that the Trump you see and hear is not the real Trump. You need to ask someone who is from NYC who grew up the same time as him about his antics.
No he is not the great business man you all think he is. He inherited his money whether you want to believe that or not and he used business failure and loopholes in the law to build his empire. He's like the bank robber in prison who says to the FBI get me out and I'll help you catch bank robbers because I'm the best at it.He and his family are products of privilege and they don't give a damn about the people and don't have a clue what it is to be a working man only the prize they seek.
If you are all fed up with what's going on in the country don't blame the Republicans or the Democrats instead go to your nearest mirror and go blame yourselves because it's YOU who elect these people. You don't want to compromise? You want it your way? You want the country back?
I'm afraid Il Duce ain't gonna do it either.
I don't think you should vote for him then...
But saying that about Trump and not Hillary is hypocrisy...
Trump is an Unknown Hillary is not
ABC
ps: Sanders I could at least see why many of you Progressives liked him at least he actually believed in his loony ideas
Let's just take it easy there. First, a Trump may not end up being all we hope. I KNOW Clinton won't be anything I hope for. And no, we don't need to look in the mirror because individually we have to choose from what the collective wants. We have to elect someone so we choose from what options we have. But neither was my choice in the primaries.
The real question here is, does it really matter who is elected President?
it could just as well be Pee Wee Herman.
