Thanked: 18Ouch!!! That hurts
This is a plea. Recently I have been having problems with nicks, something that has not happened in years and I cannot figure out what I am doing wrong to cause all these nicks. Right now I have located down to the possibility of a new shave cream I bought. It is African Black Soap
Shave Butter Cream
A product of SheaMoistue.Com. Stuff is thick and slick, hard to get a hold of. I am suspicious. $10.00 for 6 ounces/170 grams. I think my blades are sharp, haven't had problems before now. Maybe someone out there in cyber space has an idea. Next shave I will go back to my regular soaps/creams, but just by chance there might be another cause I wanted to shout out. I just can't endure any more of these nicks.

Check your blades for tiny chips and make sure the soap doesn't have any coarse particles in it. Otherwise you are the culprit.

Could well be the soap. I tried it a few years ago and didn't like it at all. Email the company about the quality of the soap. They told me that if I didn't like it, don't buy it again! Never did.

Thanked: 18Maxpamjohn1. I think you are right. The nicks have occurred only with this cream, gel, or what ever it is. As far as nicks, chips. If they existed I should have nicked myself with my other soaps, even with the canned foam. Today I went back to a tube cream I have been using after a noxema scrub and I came away clean. Ergo, my conclusion is the product. I can't imagine what is in it or about it that would cause this. I have used the silly oil a few times and never got nicks from it.
Anyway, thanks to those of you who took the time to answer. I certainly appreciate your time and effort.
