Default iPhone or Android? Questions from a current Android user.....

As the title suggests, I've always had an Android based phone. I'm nearing a time where I will most likely need to get a new phone. I've only known Android up to this point.

I'm interested in hearing from anyone that is familiar with Android, has had an Android phone and either also has experience with iPhones, or has gone to an iPhone. Do you or do you not recommend making such a switch? Why or why not?

I have Google music now. I see iPhones can apparently play songs downloaded to Google music through an app, but apparently you can NOT have instant/full access to Google music on an iPhone? Which means, I can not instantly pull up some horrifically annoying 80s song on a whim from Google music to purposely annoy my wife if I had an iPhone? If that's correct, might be a deal breaker for me.....

It just all depends on what you are looking for. I had an android for 20 years and last year went to the iphone 6s. If I was still active in business instead of being retired, I would have stuck with android. They are geared to business solutions and business environments. They have expandable memory cards, etc.

Iphone on the other hand is easier to use, in my opinion. I also think that it's faster than the android and has less communication type problems. I really like the iphone and do not plan on going back to an android unless apple does something really stupid (which is entirely possible). The new iphone 7 doesn't have have a headphone jack but is geared toward wireless media devices. They do however include a set of earbuds that work through the lightning port.

All said and done, I'll stick with apple for now. Nice and clean operating system.

I'm also thinking of a new phone, and uncertain whether I want to stick with android, or jump ship and go with an Iphone. I was leaning toward the Samsung Note7 but ........ I never was a fan of fireworks. I've been told that the Iphone is a much different platform than an android and there will be a learning curve. Anyway ......... the new one is out as of Wednesday and I'm going to wait and see what the initial reviews are. If they are like microsoft they have the buyers do their bug testing.

There was a learning curve with the IOS platform. However, it's not that steep. Once you understand how the system operates, it's not that difficult. Oh yea also, the android transfers information onto a PC easily through windows explorer. With the iphone you have to use iTunes to sync with your phone. So it's a little different but again small learning curve.

I really like the iphone. It's just a nice phone and works well for my needs. The only down side that I can tell you is that you can't expand the memory you you can with an android without a special adapter. The basic model comes with 16Gb. More than I'll ever use.

    Hope this helps!

I am an android guy. Not a fan of anything apple. Personal reasons, including the "monopoly" of only dealing with apple for apps, music, etc. But apple does have a lot of advantages in accessories, etc. radio docks, and such. My car stereo is set up to mesh with apple, but I can use my android Bluetooth, just not as convenient.

Longtime Android user here. Galaxy Notes 1, 2 and 3. When they went with a battery that couldn't be replaced, I tired the iPhone 6S+. Pretty good phone but I'm pretty sure that I will be going back to Android in November. Apple does a lot of stuff well but the key apps that I use run better on Android. I may be in the minority here...Hopefully Samsung fixes that battery issue for the Note 7 soon!
