I remember having to pick from the Imperial display right next to the Case one, the Uncle Henry one, even the Schrade case!
I finally saved-up to get a big Old-Timer with the hole at the end for a bit of leather lace with knots....
Lost THAT passing it up and down the pews on Sunday once.

It was a raid from the pulpit AND the choir, it was!
(Everyone's mom was in the choir right behind the preacher, watching us)

    ..... Nary a knife escaped!!

That sounds like a scene right out of a Mark Twain book. Your last name isn't Sawyer is it, Tom?

May as well have been. Spent some formative years in a small town. Was a hoot, as I recall!

I wonder if there was a famous knife maker back in the Caveman days. If they traded stuff to someone who was really skilled at making knives.

I bought a 'no dot' Case knife display very similar to that one in 1973 from a sporting goods store that was moving. Just sold it off, piece by piece, last year. Still had the original per knife receipt. They appreciated admirably but I would probably have netted more in a mutual fund of some sort. No regrets as you can't fondle the mutual funds and I love Case knives.

The old Case's are too pricey for me to collect. If I was to use them the way I use a knife, I would trash them anyway.
That is what I like about collecting razors instead. I can hone and use them and not hurt them one bit.

I got a Case Russlock every year for Christmas. Plenty 'Sunday' knives!
