Default Sometime new IS better..... even though I don't like it!

I *hate* modern razors and in particular them infernal electrical jobs!

I have however caved in and come to the conclusion that for *me*, after all these years, an electric toothbrush does a better job than I can.

I've had *issues" with my gums for many years... always staving off anything terrible, but always having that niggling bit of discomfort. After playing around on the Airmiles site, I discovered I could get a sonicare for $0, so I thought... I'll try anything.... once.

Well, dag nab it, it works a treat, if a bit startling the first time around. I'm only in a few days and already my issues have cleared up, something I was never able to do with a manual brush.

I found the site animated-teeth.com was quite helpful, very much to the point and pointing out the "features" were there to extract $$$ without any real return. I will tip my hat to the folks at that site... it's refreshing when you get "just the facts".

So.... my razor is silent, but my toothbrush buzzes..... gah, I guess I can't win them all, eh?

    Regards

I felt the same way when I bought my first power drill.

Funny, I've been on a brace and hand drill buying frenzy, myself. Look Ma... no dead batteries!

I've used a sonicare for years. They do amazingly well. Far superior to manual brushing.

Ironically I've also gone to the opposite end of teeth cleaning spectrum for many years in that I make and use my own toothpaste. It's probably been fifteen years since I've used any tube-paste.

My dentist has given me a stamp of approval on my homemade concoction and the single filling I have attests to that.

    Easy recipe:

    Baking soda
Doc Bronners liquid peppermint soap (more soap = more suds if desired)
Peppermint essential oil drops (as desired)
Water as needed for desired consistency.

    I wouldn't use anything else.

Years ago when folks used a brush only by the time you were 17 you had fillings in all your teeth and by 60 most had false teeth.

Oral care is one area where they have made tremendous progress. These days if you use a good electric brush and a good fluoride rinse and see the dentist on a regular basis you can avoid the issues our parents faced.

I thought the same thing about my ultra sonic cleaner for gun parts. But, as a gunsmith, it makes it so easy to drop parts in the Simple Green/water mix, hit start and come back 5 mins later and they're spotless.

And after using a Sonicare for years, I added a water pick to the program, and you'd be surprised what it flushes out that's stuck in there
