    Lou,

    I think I can pick up a copy of Windows XP second hand; I doubt it's available retail anymore.

    If I did decide to go to XP, I'd just nuke Vista with a reformat. I hate all the junk software they load on these machines, anyway, and I tend to try to delete as much as I can. Just give me Windows, and let me install my own dang applications...

    Windows' biggest assets in driver support and compatibility are hurt switching to Vista. So don't switch yet.
