A Love Story
They saw each other across the smoke filled pub. He was a dashing figure in his infantry uniform a few short years after VE day. She in her late teens was out on a night of fun with her girl friends. Their eyes locked together in a moment of surprise and wonder. They both knew.
20 years later after raising a daughter and son together he unexpectedly left her behind. The victim of an undiagnosed heart ailment. Her heart was broken. He was the love of her life but she had 2 kids to continue raising and many difficult decisions to make. My sister and I, the proof of her resilience under difficult circumstances.
Tonight after 39 years of separation and bravely facing a series of medical setbacks she left this plane of existence to once again be by his side. This time for eternity.
Goodbye Mom. Thank You. We love you and will forever miss you. Say hi to Dad and give him a big hug for us.

Thanked: 4828That was amazing well said, and very touching. I have rewritten this a few times trying to get the words right, and sometimes there are no words to express what is felt. Be Well.
