Thread: Doom

Anyone here into the new Doom FPS game? I just finished playing the game on nightmare difficulty
I played a lot of Doom 1 and 2 in college, followed by duke nukem 3d and finally a ton of Quake 2 and Q2 deathmatch. Sometime after, I got into q3 arena.

Recently I bit the bullet on a gaming laptop (i7 Quad core, 16 G ram, Geforce GTX 960) primarily to do the hours of video encoding for my youtube knife making videos. And since it was capable, I also bought the new Doom game. I can honestly say it's the best, most fun FPS I've ever played. All the different elements are balanced well and it is a ton of fun while challenging at the same time.

I haven't play one of the Doom games for awhile, but I did finally try the latest Gears of War. Well done and fun game. Enjoy your new computer

I have not gamed since the kids left home. It used to be great bonding time for those of us that gamed. The two boys, my middle daughter and I played Halo a lot. With Xbox live and a high def projector with a 120 in screen and surround sound it was a lot of fun for several years.

I wish I had time, I loved the original Doom games.

Played Doom in the beginning. I'm not that big on FPSs any more but a long time notebook gamer. I just scored a pair of i7-6700K, 64GB ram, GTX 1080x2 notebooks to replace my five and wife's six year old ones. Long time Myst/URU/Cyan fan. Their latest 'Obduction' is killer. Giving Sniper Elite a try. We do console gaming too.

If they're the ones I think they are, they're not so much notebooks as portable workstations,
