We had a willow in our front yard . Had to cut my own switch a few times.

TBH, I thought corporal punishment was a dream! Gimme my licks and let me go!
Worked for as many years as I was with my teachers/administrators.

Given my timeframe, I can count on one hand, make it two, that I have suffered via the principal/coach flogging.
The spankings from the teachers was met by much caterwauling and sympathy! They felt bad about it!
Such softies! I did it again!
    Got it again!

Don't take a willow switch with you/make HIM cut his own when you get there. If you think it's too small you can keep making him cut one till your satisfied it's the right size! :

Oh man that cutting your own switch is the worst part of the punishment.

One grandmother was a hoarder like so many other mentioned. When she passed 10 years ago (I forgot her age) we found stacks of newspaper and magazines all over the house, bags of string and twist ties, thousands of books, and money tucked into random spots! I never got to meet my grandmother on my dad's side- she got hit with a brain aneurysm the year before I was born

Not really. When I was young my dad would use what ever was handy. He's used plow lines (some folks don't know what this is) cane poles limb of what ever tree was near and of course his belt. I can't say I didn't need each and every whipping and didn't get as many as I needed. It was always more scary that painful. It wasn't abuse just discipline.

My maternal grand-mother is long dead, but it would be interesting to see if anyone on the thread has one who would have been older. My mother was 43 when I was born in 1949 and i worked out that her mother was a similar age when mom was born in 1906. Therefore that means gran was born in 1863 (or thereabouts) which was 153 years ago.

Can anyone beat that age gap - I'm 67 by the way.
My service is good, fast and cheap. Select any two and discount the third.
