Nougat update bricked my Moto Z Force phone 11-30-2016
If anyone has an Android through VZW beware of the latest update.
I installed it this morning when it was shown on my phone as ready to go. Two hours later, the screen flickering on and off every few minutes, I drove over to VZW and they are having a refurbished device sent to me.
Fortunately for me they didn't accept my old Razr HD Maxx as a trade in because of a cracked screen. So at least I have a phone in the meantime. They reactivated the old device.
I still have the Moto Z Force. I'm supposed to send it back when I receive the replacement. I know better than to do an update when they are newly released, but I figured I'd dodge the bullet. No such luck. In the past I've waited to see that the bugs were worked out.Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Actually when they came out Uncle Sam bought them for us so I carried one from day one. I also had a satellite phone for a while too.
Most of my working life I carried 3 cell phones. One was my personal phone, the other was my issued phone and the other was the duty phone.
When I retired I swore I would never carry a cell again. Well, yes I have a smartphone these days but most of the time it sits on my desk turned off.No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

Pffffft, nowadays, nobody calls anyone. It's all text messages and emails.
I decided to not post in this thread immediately after I updated my phone. Wanting to see what would happen. I have a Galaxy S6 through Sprint and it is chugging along just fine.
Might be a hardware issue?
