Godspeed, John Glenn
We awoke this morning to the news of the passing of a real American hero .. John Glenn.
It takes amazing courage to be excited at the proposition of being bolted into a metal can atop a thundering rocket to be shot into space as a projectile. I remember the Mercury 7 program and it's astronauts. I also remember that the US rockets of the day were less than reliable... The capsule, in 1962 a technological marvel, now characterized as "primitive..."
They just don't make them like John Glenn anymore ...

Aside from his great accomplishments from what I heard he was a great human being.
Sad to hear he has left us

We lost a true hero. Not only a great man but pushed the limits to achieve the seemingly impossible at the time
