T V shaving
While watching a TV show last night named Elementary s show about a modern day Sherlock Holmes I noticed that the person playing his dad was shaving with a straight. I've also noticed that in other show in the last year or two. Looks like it's getting more popular with time.

I've noticed straight being used in TV shows more frequently since Quantam of Solace (James Bond) came out several years ago. Some shows I remember having sgaving scenes are Ripper Street, Copper, and Sherlock.
Last week I was watching the old miniseries Shaka Zulu. One if the characters was shaving al fresco. He had horrible technique.

Thanked: 4826It is getting a little closer to mainstream for sure. I doubt straights will ever get back to being very common, but I do see the soaps and the brushes getting back to being used by a good section of society and straights and DE's getting to be a known option. I have no idea what it is like in the cities where you live but it is really easy to find a barber shop that does shaves around BC. Even the smaller cities have full service barber shops. In fact there is a barber shop chain that does straight shaves. It is coming around for sure.

Saw the Al Bundy guy getting a shave on Modern Family. Terrible lather and terrible technique.

What is this Barber doing with his mug and brush? He's not loading the brush or whipping up lather...

It's the kosher method, where you tickle the soap to death. Gichy-gichy-goo, har!
