2017 Ag Museum Open House.
Today I drove the 150+ round trip miles to attend the 2017 Eastern Washington Agricultural Museum's Open House and Old Time Horse Drawn Farming Exhibition. This is the fourth straight year I've been able to attend. I am a member of the museum.
The weather was fair and it looked like a good turnout. I was only able to take a few pics as I messed up and left the spare battery and charger at home AND of course the battery in the camera died.
With that said I got a couple of nice pics.
Check this out. An actual Chuck/Cook Wagon that was used in the fields to feed Harvest Crews. It was added to the museum last year.
How about some Steam Power? While they didn't have it running this year, two or three years ago it was going 'Full Steam' and my 6-7 year old grandson thought that it was a Train Engine. Yes it does have a whistle and they sounded it quite often.
Here's a little info about the steam engine.
Now this steam tractor was operating when I took the pic, however the shutter speed stopped that movement. I was hoping that the turning wheels would actually have been blurry to show that it was indeed in operation.
You know we work hard to restore or clean up razors, sometimes going all the way to try to get the finish on the blades or scales as close to 'Original' as possible but how many of us would dedicate their life for NINE years to build from scratch a Full Sized Replica of the Original Holt Steam Engine Catipillar Track Drive Tractor?
I hope all have enjoyed the few pic and the video. Our house is as Neil left it- an Aladdins cave of 'stuff'.
