    Default Silly Americans

Camping out in the rain to buy a product which isn't rare, isn't proven, and isn't even necessary (no matter how highly desirable) We Americans really are proving to be blindly consuming lemmings. I'm curious how many of these iphones will be put on a credit card, compounding the destruction.

If I were rich, I'd pay somebody to camp out in the rain for my iPhone too.

    Why? It's a fricken phone!
Its purpose in life is to allow you to make a phone call and perhaps send a text message.
Til shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.
To spit in Sightblinder’s eye on the Last Day

I just bought a new mobile (cell) phone - it plays mp3s, has a camera, synchronises with my PC (including email) and I can use it as a USB drive on my computer as well. Cost 150AUD. Apart from the touch screen, how's this different to the iPhone?

Don't you get it? People no longer buy products for their usefullness, they are, instead, buying an image of themselves! They no longer have their own identity so they have to cull it from the products that they buy!!

Why do people need all of this stuff? Pay attention to what's actually in front of you. Use your imagination. Look at the trees (or the dump for that matter) - not some f 'n box filled with other people's ideas and canned entertainment - ughhh its too much!!!

    I'm done now.

Am I the only one to see the irony of this post by someone staring at a computer posting on a BBS?
