Are there any fellow Bowhunters here on SRP?
Hello fellow smooth shavers.
Who else here on SRP is a hopelessly obsessed Bowhunter? I'm twenty minutes by car to the White House in DC. We have a ecological problem though. Whitetail deer are carrying numbers far beyond what the land can support. So, here in Virginia, we have private property lots so enormous that people can apply for a kill permit. This allows, with strict legal parameters, bowhunting certain deer with archery all year long. I'm having a great time. Who else here is a serious Bowhunter? Where do you live? And what do you like to kill and grill? Keep it clean.-J

Not anymore but I used to be into it. It takes a lot of time here in Southern Ontario, they are pretty wild and wary.
I will get back into it when I retire. I will however retire my compound and go to a stick bow and ground hunting only.
good luck with your hunt

Yep!
However, we don't have ANY big deer, here in Illinois.
So, there is no sense in anyone coming here to hunt whitetail.

Strictly a backyarder atm but one day.
The white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.

All year long,,,,,,,, That would be fun!
The only trouble with that that I can see is that around here many of us hunt the later part of the season that is colder. If you shoot them late in the evening and can't find them until morning cold is good!

I can't say I go bow hunting. I do shoot the raccoons the hound trees. Oh and I take pot shots at the coyotes when I can.

Dang coyotes have been more common in recent years. I got a antler less buck one year Thanksgiving morning. Not a bambi! A few years old. They were broke off under hair level. Maybe it ran into a car?????
I field dressed it and opened it up to cool. Snow on the ground. Barely made it in for dinner on time. My son and niece offered to go get it for me. I couldn't turn down that offer! With about 2 hours gone by when they arrived the chased off the coyotes that had started chewing on the hind quarters.
Not much lost so all is well that ends well.
