Scientific drawing for Plant ID class in college, Orn. Hort. .
From botanist, to lock picker. Didn't have the green thumb, eh.! :rofl2:
The only thing I needed to know about plants, were which ones not to wipe my arse with.
Or which ones work well.
When I was on a combine crew years ago one of the first things I looked for at a new field was if or where the Button Weed, Elephant Ear, or best of all names was Velvet Leaf was located.
Velvet Leaf is the best discription at least in this scenario! :rofl2:
No, the green thumb was fine. The path that program was leading me on just wasn't where I wanted to end up. Some things look better on paper than in reality. I decided to regroup so I took a semester off to make a little money because I was tired of being broke and I went to work with my Dad (he apprenticed me as a teenager) and somehow a semester turned into 36 years.
Everyone stay safe down there through this please!

Fur trade canoe. 36ft! Is that what is in the ground there? Or are those birch trees?
They still make them I see. From Birch bark!
Those are silver birch trees in that ooops picture, grow everywhere up here and so sheenish this time of year. Wasn’t supposed to be attached. Slow everything up here, net wise but happy to have some bandwidth.
But yea the specs on the fur trade canoes, impressive, and fully loaded they ran 6” above waterline ,,,
Funny that a significant amount of the cargo was rum. Guess it kept em rowing and slogging.
Didn’t taste anything like skittles!

These aren’t too bad though!
Locally made up here.

Really? Snow? Sure its not sticking but dammit man!
I was just sitting here watching snow fall quite heavy for about 15 minutes, didn't settle but OMG, its only the middle of October and I'm south of northern California! :dropjaw:
Yup, first snow up here too.
Knocking more leaves out of the trees, but nothing stuck to the ground yet.
But not quite time to rake.

Pretty time of year if you don’t mind changing three times a day cause of the temperature swings..
We have had an inch or so one day that stuck on the grass for a day but the sidewalks and streets were to warm yet.
I've been in Southern California for the last three weeks helping put up a fence---no snow there--OR once I got back home. But you never know----------
Welcome home Roy.
Thanks my friend. I do hope to show some of the work in a bit.
Yup, welcome back Roy. Look forward to the pictures
I’ve seen it a few times; pics or it didn’t happen.
Well it's been raining yesterday, all night and it just stopped. Man do we need it. However just a few feet in elevation it was just cold enough to-------

We have lots of snow in the high country. Looking out the window of my house and seeing snow covered mountains is nice. Looking out the windshield of my truck and seeing snow covered mountain roads sucks. But thats what I do. Dammit. Here we go again.
