Yes positive tests. Both of us. It was what I guess you'd call a moderate case. It was about like having the flu, put us both down for about a week. I lost about 12 lbs over that period. The cough and the fatigue still linger. Saturday I was back at work for about half a day working outside in the sun with the heat index fairly high. It wiped me out so much I couldn't stay up for the hockey game.

Don't mean to hijack the thread, but I just caught Omicron a few weeks ago while on my vacation to Kentucky. It took 7 days for the symptoms to show. A lady at a restaurant in a booth next to us had a ridiculous non-stop Covid cough and we both caught it. We had the original Covid well before the vaccine. It was horrific. I could hardly breathe. This strain was more like a mild Flu.
I read an article (I think by The Mayo Clinic) about 18 months ago that Valtrex, the antiviral drug for Shingles, worked well against Covid. I have a prescription for Valtrex because of a bad case of Shingles I had that would not quit. So I have been taking Valtrex, and the Covid Omicron was basically gone in 3 days. SWMBO, whom is not taking Valtrex, is still suffering, but not horribly. She's basically just suffering the symptoms of a moderate cold, with Covid cough. I'm not coughing, and actually feel well, all things considered. I think because we had the original strain, we are somewhat protected.
It amazes me that people with a hideous cough just go out in public and spread their germs with little or no concern to others. It's almost like they think, "I've already got it. I no longer have to worry about catching it. I might as well go out and enjoy myself even though I'm coughing my lungs out." Shameful.Last edited by ZipZop; 06-21-2022 at 09:24 PM.
