We have a bunch of big critters here. These are just the pictures I have taken myself:

The top is a cuban tree frog and the bottom is some kind of stick walker (that sprays noxious chemicals at you) with her mate.

Don't think so. Its native to these parts, as orb weavers go. Haven't found its name yet.

They usually don't get this big, but holy shite.!! See um like this up around the great lakes, just not around my area.

Mustta been eatin good all year.

The biggest of them are the female's. Mine must be the empress, queen of all orb weavers.

I would rather touch the frog than that bigass spider

The Cuban Tree frog is an invasive species and they have an irritant they excrete from their skin that will burn the eyes nose and throat. The state tells us to rub a numbing agent on them, put them in a bag and then put them in the freezer. I just smash their head with a hammer. I figure that's quick and painless enough. With them, like spiders and the Southern Two Striped Walking Stick, the female is larger. The walking stick sprays out a chemical called anisomorphal which burns the eyes, nose and throat also.

I have always picked up spiders with my hands and carried them outside...all except for banana spiders. They give me the heebee jeebees.

EDIT: but hell we're WAY upstate. in south Florida they have 17 foot alligators like we do but they also have 20 foot American crocodiles that weigh a ton as well as 20 foot anacondas and Burmese pythons plus lion fish and all kinds of other weird stuff. Of course here we have 8 foot eastern diamond backs with a head the size of a salad plate so...

Look up the everglades for some interesting reading.

Critters are people too. Feel the love Jerry.

Seriously though, if you don't like critters Florida may not be the place for you 'cause we have plenty of 'em.

After you shot em Jerry, you could put them down the loo and i would flush em with a big long pole. Teamwork eh, just don't make me get close.
