Mind The Gap!
I love London. Usually stay in South Kensington, but I wander most of the "touristy" or upscale areas of the city.
I should add;
It always amazes me how BUSY Starbucks are in London. Yet Cafe Nero (that to me is unique and a lot better than Starbucks) is no where near as popular. I guess you can't be a profit in your own land. Starbucks in the US is old hat. Cafe Nero to me is new and unique. To Londoners, Starbucks is newer and more unique I suppose.Last edited by ZipZop; 10-02-2017 at 11:59 PM.

Further derailing my own thread, I was completely mesmerized by London-such a cultural feast in every way. We stayed at an Air BnB "flat" near the Rotherhithe tube station right by the Thames. Between the Tube and lots of walking, we saw all we could in 3 days. I especially loved the West End, Picadilly, Trafalgar Square, The Tower of London with all it contains, all the big sights near the Thames. We barely scratched the surface. There is history there going all the way back to Roman times (which we did see Hadrian's Wall in norther England too). I hope to get back there some day and catch some more sights (The British Museum, and about a thousand other things I want to check out). And yes-"Mind the Gap!"

Thanked: 113Great examples Gents!
My favorite is a watch, made by Patek Philippe in 1988/89.
Model: Caliber 89
Why? This has been one of the most complex watches made in the world and it's a mechanical! Don't get me wrong it's huge ( but it's mind boggling that they were able to pack so much into it. None of that smart watch frenzy here.
I was able to see it in mid 90's while visiting the PP museum in Geneva.
It's mesmerizing, isn't it?
