    American flag on Canadian 2 dollar bill.

    It's actually an old Canadian flag, the "Union Jack". The maple leaf replaced it as part of the 1967 Canadian centennial along with plenty of protest from the staunch British loyalists and traditionalist that just can't let the Monarchy go.

    It's actually the Red Ensign which is most often mistaken for the Starts & Stripes. Did you not read the link I posted? Typical guy.
