DE on the plane
Has anyone tried to load a DE razor and get it thru the carry-on screening at the airport? I'm asking because I was thinking I could try and if they take my blade, I can always use a plastic razor as long as they don't take my DE. I have to fly tomorrow morning. Only need one blade.
Comments?It's just Sharpening, right?

Never tried it Jerry but when I went to Texas I googled TSA and they have a pretty detailed list of what you can carry on and what is allowed in your suitcase. You should be able to find the answer there.
Have a safe journey.

I'm betting they'll take the blade for sure. It is a weapon in their eyes.
Hopefully the TSA agent doesn't look fondly on your razor, I'm sure they'd getaway with taking that as well, if they wanted toLook sharp and smell nice for the ladies.~~~Benz

As I've told Jerry via email that years ago (prior to 9-11) that a co-worker had his box cutter taken from him when he went through the metal detector. He was LIVID! He was ranting what they thought he was going to do---weld the blades together and make a sword???
Anyway, he didn't get the cutter back. Here's what he was 'Packing'! I still have one and blades are still available.
Our house is as Neil left it- an Aladdins cave of 'stuff'.

Do they have DE blades at Walgreens or CVS? I wasn't able to find any on the websites. That would be the safest way to go. I'm getting too old to take risks any more. OK, Call me a Sissy. I just don't really want to push my luck in this situation. Think I'll just drag a DE along with me and leave the blade out. I should be able to find a blade somewhere, right? Chicken, I know.
BTW, I'll make this short so I don't bring anyone down but,,,
My mother's Husband died. I'm thinking he was pushing 90 yrs. He was a great guy. Not my father and had only been part of the family for about 15 years. I've only spent time with him 3 or 4 times. He was a big Church going, God fearing man and I had a lot of respect for him. But I know my mother will want me around so I'm taking a couple, on-the-spir-of-the-moment days for family reasons. I know you all understand.
Bad timing too, as I just started my new job this Monday. But my new boss understood and let me get a couple days in before leaving. I'll be back to work next Monday. And Yes! I'm still going to be a/The GASMAN! What the hell else would I do? LOL.It's just Sharpening, right?

Hello Jerry,
Last summer the wife and I took a few days to warmer climes and flew WestJet out of Calgary Canada.
Silly me,.....without thinking i packed a loaded DE razor in my carry on.
Needless to say i was pulled aside and politely asked to open my luggage and explain why i was carrying a loaded DE?
A little embarrassing, i should have known better and surrendered the blade and a package of Feathers.
My guess is they don't see many DE'sS.L.A.M.,.......SHAVE LIKE A MAN!!!

The blades they sell at the CVS here say they are made in Israel so they might be made by Persona. IIRC they have some at the Rite-Aide as well. Sorry about your (and your Moms ) loss.
