Hello I'm Guus, I thought it would be nice to introduce myself.
I'm 20 years old and live in the Nederlands. I've started shaving with a straight razor when I was 18. That was because I've always been fascinated by knives. The other reason was that my beard is so hard that a Mach 3 knive only lasted 2 shaves. I started out with a silver steel razor with ebbenwood scales form dovo. After making all the beginner mistakes (wrong angle, bad honing and using cheap shaving foam) I bought the Celluloid Red 6/8. Great razor who gave me a decent shave. Now a few weeks ago I bought a used razor. After receiving the razor I knew why the previous owner sold it. It was as dull as a .. uhh .. cheap kitchen knife. After honing it on Belgium brok (coticule) it got its edge back. But lately there is no more improvement in my shaving so that’s the reason I registered for this forum because there is always a closer shave. I hope to learn a lot from you people.

Hey there Guus,
I'm Alexander, I'm 27 and I live in Oss. Whereabouts do you live in the netherlands? If you'd like I can help you out with your honing on coticules. I've gotten pretty handy on those things. If you're not too far you're always welcome to come by. (offcourse you're also welcome if you are far but there'll be less chance of a visit then I think.
Regards
Alexander

Thanked: 6Thanx for the offer. Maybe I might take you up on your offer. But honing on coticule goes pretty well (hair popping sharp) for now. But I'm mainly looking for methodes to make it even shaper because some of my rasors pull al little. Btw I live in Goirle (dus das verekkes fijn om te weten dat der ook nen andere brabander opt forum zit).

Welcome, Guus
The 'Search' function is a good tool if you have ideas and when that fails you, you can always field a question of your own.
