DNA Testing results
The wife wanted to do the DNA testing thing you see on TV lately so I figured why not. I remember being very young and my folks saying I had some Indian in me then later in life my dad said I'm a Heins 57. A little of everything.
So here you go. From the scientist that figure this stuff out...
The Gasman is...
Ethnicity Estimate
Scandinavia
35%
Europe West
24%
Ireland/Scotland/Wales
23%
Iberian Peninsula
7%
Europe South
4%
Europe East
3%
Great Britain
3%
European Jewish
<1%
Migrations
Western North Carolina Settlers
Guess the ol' man was right. A little everything. Didn't know I was a third Viking. LOL.
So have you had this test done and what did you learn that you didn't know? It's just Sharpening, right?

My results:
European Jewish 95%
Central & Eastern Europe
Western & Central Europe Low Confidence Regions
Asia South 3%
Africa North <1%
Great Britain <1%
Caucasus <1%
The Asian is from India. I think what will be found in most DNA results is that there was a lot of what I call the Traveling Salesman effect."The sharpening stones from time to time provide officers with gasoline."

I decided to play a bit and while I have the 'Answers' from one place I'm waiting on the results from another.
I will say that the initial 'facts' do say what my family has said all along. It's the 'other' things that are hard to grasp.
I'll try to report back once the other 'Answers' get back to me but if the second place is as slow as the first one, I may die of old age before I know their 'facts'.Our house is as Neil left it- an Aladdin’s cave of 'stuff'.

Thanked: 4826I don’t have the numbers handy but the surprise was a substantial amount of Scandinavia.
There was none reported by parents and grandparents. However the Danes left a ton of DNA everywhere that had a coast.
My fathers family all came from Eastern Europe, and those numbers are pretty much supported in the results. Even though the migration of my mothers side of the family is from the UK, the DNA suggests that they were predominately the descendants of migrations from Scandinavia. It's not what you know, it's who you take fishing!

I was going to have it done but my buddy Mr L said it's all a big joke, not to bother.
You see he said he and "the big guy" were playing cards and they were betting a bunch of DNA and thought it would be funny to mix everything up.
He said, unfortunately "The big guy" doesn't have much of a sense of humor and he was caught cheating and as punishment he was cast down...well you know the rest of the story. No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

Thanked: 315I would like to get this done eventually if it isn't too expensive.
I remember reading an article where identical triplets? submitted their dna, but their results differed.

Pretty much if you're white you're pretty much guaranteed to have some Viking...same as if you're Asian, chances are, you can count Genghis Khan as a distant relative...that guy was Boss! :-)
