Former Prisoners of War 2018 Picnic
For the past 4 years, a friend and I have been cooking for the Forrmer POW's support group of Ann Arbor MI.
Today was their annual picnic. I was alone on this one, my own fault messing up the date and Tom wasn't able to make it today. Missed ya Brother.
Here are some pics of the day
Rolling Thunder waiting for our Veterans
One of the Hero's arriving
One of some of the group
Sorry, no before pics. But I served, Chopped brisket for sandwiches, Baby back ribs, Chopped chicken, Apple Pie baked beans or at least my version and Cole slaw.
Here's the aftermath
It's always an Honor to do these cooks for our Veterans. And these guys are some very special ones in my opinionLook sharp and smell nice for the ladies.~~~Benz

What a fantastic gesture for one of the most worthy causes known to man.
Hats off and a big thank you Dave.

Thanks a lot guys
To me the best way to thank these Hero's is to put a smile on their faces. Good food seems to do that

Thanked: 315That looks like a great work. Definitely people who should be honored for their sacrifice and the trials they endured. Unfortunately many POWs didn't get to see freedom again. Hope a good time was had by all!!
Sharing food and fellowship is always a great idea. In the past sharing a meal with someone was a sign of respect. (Not to derail thread but Biblical stories give good examples of this) There is a restaurant near me that actually has large round tables to encourage people to speak with each other and get to know their neighbors better!- Joshua
