Thanked: 0Blade Forums
As some of you already know, I am visually impaired, completely blind when it comes to the sense of sight. After one year, I am still here, still shaving with straights, and loving it. I am also very grateful to the members and of the SRP site. I want to ask for some assistance regarding another forum, which I am unable to access as easily as I am able to access SRP. The reason I am unable to access this other forum, is do to their use of visual captchas in a challenge response authorization when attempting to register and even send them feedback. I am so glad SRP does not employ these frustrating methods, but if the need should arise, please allow for an audio alternative. Anyway, the site I am trying to access is www.bladeforums.com. Would any SRP member, who is also a member there be willing to please intercede on my behalf? Hopefully all that would be required is a simple note to the admin. explaining the situation, or perhaps providing my email so that I can discuss the situation with them myself, and varify that I am not some robot spam master. If you would be willing to make the initial contact with the admin., please send me a pm so that I may provide my email and the necessary explanation. Thank you in advance, Todd

Good to see you again Toddo. I'm not a member there, but I wanted to say hi again. How're the shaves treating you?

Thanked: 4I am but can't remember if I've ever posted much so I won't be much use to you. I'd expect someone like Dwarvenchef might be an active member.

I was registered for a couple of days, until a mod and I got crosswise and he banned me. I don't take smart @ss responses too well.

Thanked: 0Yeah, hello again. I do not post a whole lot but I do try to keep up with a lot of the forums here. The shaves are fantastic, I do not see ever putting down a straight for anything else as long as I am able. It probably takes me a little longer than most guys, partly because I am an anal perfectionist at times, but the bbs shaves are worth every minute.

I'm not sure if I'm on that forum or not... it's been so many years...
I'm on Knifeforums, it has a great kitchen knife group. Let me know if you ever need help there.

Wow!!!
Reading your post warms my heart! I'm thinking of all the problems all of us have trying to get that perfect shave and perfect our techniques, etc., etc..; and you are getting great shaves even with your handicap.
We can all learn a lesson from you.
I'm glad you are there. It encourages me.
Thanks,
Steve

Thanked: 0I appreciate the sentiments, and hope that it might prove inspirational for those who are new, especially if they feel like giving up too soon. Humblely, I really have all the same troubles, the blindness sometimes adds to them, but at other times, it actually diminishes them, believe it or not. With regard to shaving, I'm not sure really, on the one hand I don't follow a line or curve by sight, on the other, I am very much in touch with the feel of the blade.
Mirrors, I don't need no stinking mirrors... lol Last edited by Toddo; 08-01-2007 at 09:53 PM.
