Sad day in the Gasman's h9me today :(
After 18 1/2 years we are having to put two Cats down. One is my closest buddy. Seen them born, now put them asleep for the for the last time. Its going to be a rough day at work with the emosions playing with me but it had to be done.
The funny thing is the Mom is still strong and healthy after 19.5 years. Guess thats life. It's just Sharpening, right?

Thanked: 292Jerry
I have been through that pain quite a few times during my life. You will get over it, eventually. I am so sorry for your loss. Animals become a treasured part of our families, especially when you have had one so long.
We had to put our GoldenDoodle to sleep the day after Easter. She was only 11, so we expected her to live a couple of years longer. She had just had her annual checkup a few weeks earlier and appeared to be in good health up until her last few days. She had aggressive liver cancer and started bleeding internally. The loss was a real shock. She came running to greet me when I came home, layed at my feet as I worked, shared in every meal, and slept in the bed with us each night. I grieved more for the dog that I did when I lost my father and mother years ago.
Is your mother cat well enough to train a new kitten? If so, getting a new kitten might help her get over the loss of her own kittens. it will also fill a void in your life.

Thanks guys. We just had another cat give us 4 kittens. They have just opened there eyes so not very long in this world. The wife already said "this one is yours so name it". Pickles i said. Names after the drummer of Dethklok. He has red hair in dreads and the cat is red. Along with my buddy was red. And named Red. The wife dont like the name much but i dont think she is going to argue about it right now.
Red was just skin and bone. In the end we fed him anything he wanted and as often as he wanted, but it never helped. Just waisted away. Too old to try and do medical treatments. The other one was Duncan. Little extra weight and looked healthy. Blind and def. And couldnt find the littler box in time any more. Both had urinary failure but kept going. The wife has been dealing with it for some time but they were just getting worse. They didnt move much at all any more. Just slept. It was Just past time to go i guess. Its going to be a hard day but its life and it happens. Ive posted pics of both of them in the past.
Its helped me to talk about it. Thanks.Last edited by Gasman; 08-19-2018 at 08:35 PM.

I'm so sorry, Jerry. It doesn't seem fair that our wonderful pets that give us so much are taken away so soon. I've lived with a lot of dogs and cats for over 70 years and miss every one of those I've lost.

I think we always take it harder when it is one of our pets. My current cat, Minnie Mouth (half Siamese, half Norwegian Forest Cat but has all of the Siamese features - including that delightful strident voice that commands attention and fealty), is 18 later this month and starting to show her age. Did hold her right at birth as I did her half-brother. Same Momma, different father. He was 25 lbs of sheer joy and love. He and his Momma now reside on a corner of the breakfast table where I do talk to them every morning. Minnie comes and goes with comments till I pay her her due attention.
So glad that you have new kittens so soon to fill that gap we all have when a beloved pet leaves us to go ahead to the Rainbow Bridge where I'm sure we will see them again."The sharpening stones from time to time provide officers with gasoline."

I have been there also. I am saddened by your loss and happy that you have another to befriend.
