    Default GGG vs Canelo 2

Tonight sees Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin vs Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez. A rematch between two of the best pound-for-pound fighters in world boxing and is anticipated as one of the fights of the year, we should be be in for an exciting time.

Last September, Golovkin put his WBA, WBC and IBF middleweight titles on the line against Canelo in front of a capacity crowd in Las Vegas.

The bout was controversially called a draw after 12 rounds during which the undefeated Kazakh believed he had edged the contest on points.

    Highlights of the first fight.

The rematch was scheduled to be in May however Canelo was given a six-month ban from boxing after failing two drugs tests in February. Canelo claimed the illegally high levels of clenbuterol was down to him eating contaminated meat. Yeah, whatever mate, clenbuterol is used to treat asthma but athletes and body builders use higher doses to cut fat.
Golovkin has admitted he lost respect for Canelo and his team. In another dig GGG said that he could see needle marks all over Saul.

Both boxers are world class, GGGs relentless pressure and Canelo counter punches will make for a great fight.

So who's going to be victorious?

I watched a tape of "GGG v. Alvarez 1" yesterday afternoon, and yes, Alvarez looked pretty big... bigger than Triple-G; of course, I hadn't known about Alvarez's problem with PEDs, which explains a lot of what happened: PEDs can only take you so far, even with a strong foundation, and the fight that *I* saw should've gone to GGG. Whatever.

Later in the evening I watched the Ramirez v. Orozco fight; I found it interesting how their physical builds so closely paralleled those of GGG and Alvarez; even more interesting was how -- despite Orozco's relentless pursuit -- Ramirez so dominated the action.

Sadly, I won't be ponying-up the $79.95 to watch "GGG v. Alvarez 2" on PPV. Without the benefits of PEDs, my "money" is on Triple-G. Film at 11.
You can have everything, and still not have enough.
I'd give it all up, for just a little more.

My monies on GGG too, he reminds me of British middle weights of the 90s: Eubank, Ben and Collin. They were just great fighters with hearts of lions.

Taking clenbuterol would mean Alvarez could train hard without the worry of depleting strength and muscle which cutting weight leading up to a fight is renowned to do.

Believe me though, I know Conor is fighting Khabib.

To be honest Joe I dont know much about Khabib, Conors been out of the game for a while now and living the celeb lifestyle. Has he still got the hunger to be the best mma fighter? I'm not sure. All I can say from past fights is that his speed, timing and technique is flawless add in being an awkward fighter and you've got yourself something special.

Wow! What a fight! We have a new middleweight champion of the world.
In what was an exciting toe to toe rematch, for me, it was too hard to call. Alvarez looked sharper but GGG landed more heavier punches, they seemed to reverse styles as Alvarez came forward at a relentless pace and GGG was counter boxing.

To me it was very close and could have easily been a draw again. Both fighters are true champions and gave the world a spectacular show of modem day gladiators to which I salute them.
