What's funny about that is that there are more NHL players from Florida than from states like Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, North Carolina, Utah, North Dakota... And the list goes on. All of these are states that have much more pronounced winters than Florida. And yes, Florida does have a winter time. It just doesn't last very long. It gets down into the teens here. I think the coldest I remember was 13°. On the other hand it has been 90 here for 3 months now and will be for another 5 including November and sometimes end of December. Sometimes it's 85 on Christmas Day here. January and February usually get cold though

Thanked: 3228What is funny is that we have a long standing hockey tradition in our town that goes back to the beginning of the NHL and I don't follow hockey much. Yet you with just a relatively recent history of hockey in Florida are following it. Yea, don't worry I know Florida has a winter but a much nicer one temp wise than we do. Those hockey players on the list came from one town not one State/Province and much of that was before the first expansion of the NHL.

That's an impressive list. Yes, there are more players from Florida than from other states in the US but you Canucks got us all beat. Over half of the players on the Tampa Bay Lightning are from somewhere in Canada. There are six players from Florida which is not a lot but it still surprises me that there are more than from ANY other state. As far as winters go, in fairness I live in North Florida.
In Miami know what they do in the winter?
