Default Bummer. Broke down on a sunday night.

Im sitting at a large grocery store chain. Just delivered my load of gas but now have to wait for someone to figure out what to do about my broke down trailer. My clock is running out and im an hour from home. Cant leave the trailer sitting and drive home or find a motel because its hazmat. Im afraid i might be sleeping in my truck tonight and it does not have a sleeper. But i will be on the time clock to entire time if thats what has to be.

Still dont sound like any fun. Sorry, i just had to rant. This company i work for is a good one and thinks of most stuff. But i dont know what they plan on doing in this situation. If it was me id send someone else out to babysit the truck while its being fixed that has logbook time. But i dont run the company. Oh well. At least the weather is nice and i have a grocery stone handy for the important stuff.

That sucks, Jerry-I don't suppose you have any barber hones and razors to pass the time with? I hope you at least rack up lots of overtime babysitting your rig.

I got tired of waiting for someone to show up to give repairs. So i put on my thinking cap and figured out how to by-pass an air tank. Pin the bresk cans on the trailer so they are locked open. Now to baby it towards home. Glad i keep tools on hand. They should pay me extra for this. At least i will make it home. They may have to do dome magic with my electronic logbook but what the hell did they exspect me to do.

Ok. Rant over. Now to crawl home. Get the hell out of my way!

I see that you've come up with a solution so cancel this post

As it has been said--Your situation SUCKS! If the only option is to baby sit the truck and trailer while the repairs go on at least you'll get paid. However I'm sure it'll mess up your driving log and thus your schedule.

Look on the bright side---#1 if you're stuck in the truck you'll have air conditioning and #2 at least you're at a Grocery Store so you won't starve--

    Hang in there my friend

Just an update encase anyone was wondering. Made it home fine and had a shave to calm myself.
This morning i went back to Denver being easy, but it was early so not as many idiots on the road yet. Got the shop started on the repairs. And went in and seen the boss. He wanted to know what happened. After explaining he said he was sorry for what he was going to say, but he was happy it happened to me and not one of the many lazy drivers he has on staff. Or one of the idiots that has no clue.

So all is good in the end. It was just a stressful evening that i really didn't need. Too much stress in my life right now.
