Doctor's Orders...
I just spent a few days in the hospital. Part of my medication regimen included daily shots (2) of heparin, and blood anticoagulant. As I was preparing to leave yesterday, my doc (from India) stopped by with a few last words of encouragement for continued improvement and to ask if I had final questions. The conversation ended on a funny note.
Doc: What do you shave with?
Me: Either a DE or a straight razor.
Doc: Use this only (handing me a Bic disposable).
Me: Doc, I can't use that. They are no fun!
Doc: Based on the amount of heparin in your system, then don't shave. I don't want to see you for any mis-haps. Yes, I believe that is good. No, don't shave. Not at all.
Me: Doc, what do you shave with?
Doc: I know these tools that you use. No, don't shave...
And he smiled and shook my hand goodbye.

Great Story! I read the whole thing with an Indian accent - perfect!!
Blood thinners and straight razors - I know the combination well!
Chicks dig suppurating facial wounds(with props to Jimbo for 'suppurating'...
...great word, that!)

Thanked: 0Listen to your doctor. If you have enough blood thinners in your system for him to be concerned, it's not worth the risk
Get well, Tom

Since WE know you would shed less blood with either a straight or especially your DE than with that bic, I just wouldn't shave.
Of course I would buy myself a new soap, and maybe a new razor or brush just in anticipation of using my next shave to wack the stubble off

Thanked: 1587Yeah, that's a bummer alright, and I hope things get back on track quickly for you. Good to see your doctor is a thoughtful person - a lot of people wouldn't think of shaving.
On a lighter note, I'm sure there are plenty of people here who'd love to be foster parents to your straights during the down time. The weather in Australia is quite good at the moment....
