    Default Cool find & question?

Hello Fella's... So i was out the other day checking on some of our Pawn/Antique/Second hand shops to see if anything would catch my eye... Not just shaving as i like to collect a lot of vintage items in not one particular category..
Went to a number of places and had the pleasure of seeing a lot of interesting pieces but nothing i couldnt live without... Until I saw just the brown bill and a little bit of old/ dusty green felt sitting on a top shelf that took my tippy toes to grab...And to my surprise this is what it was!!!
I immediatley took to the lady who owned the store and asked her if she had any knowledge of who it belonged to/where it might have came from? She was in her mid 30's ish and pleasantly said she had no clue and she didnt even notice it before.. She said looks pretty old and $10.00 out the door.. Took it without a blink!.
So when i got home i got my magnifying glass out hoping to find a name written or imprinted but there is nothing.. Wished i could have put a name and somehow got it to a family member
I have a question for you guys? Is this a privates Army issue WW2 cap with the pin in front?
And what is really cool is in the picture that is a Lansing State Journal newspaper circa June 1943 I believe wrapped under the leather strap to tighten it up!!
Now i am 5'10' and weigh 172lbs and i have never considered myself short by any means nor tall at all either.. But i sure would love to know who's this was because this hat literally sits on my head like a childs hat.. Really made me think of how different the average size man was during ww2 and how effing young 18-20yr old so called men were to go 1000's of miles away to fight a War!
Ive stared at that hat for hours now with a lot of questions going through my head..
Thank you for any info on my question and most of all Thank you to any and every veteran out there.. God bless ✊!!Name: 20200205_192959.jpg

Looks a lot like the dress cover my father had (1st Division, Normandy, Battle of the Bulge) that I played with as a child. Wish I still it and his Eisenhower jacket too.

It's an enlisted man's Army cap alright. It could be private through Sgt Major. The newspaper gives away the vintage.
