I hear you on Snopes Richard. I'm skeptical of them just like I am of everybody else. Also, no offense intended TC. I'd cover your 6 too brother

I live in an assisted care facility under lockdown, they have a designated shopper to get supplies and know where to find them. I have no able family to be of service, but am fortunate to have a couple of great friends. One did some necessary shopping for me today.
Friends are among the best things in life.
I can only hope that folks remember that after the hoo-hah is past.

Good to see everyone is hunkering down and being self-reliant. I would expect no less from this group. We are pretty well-fixed for groceries and bourbon here, plus we're still eating the 180 pound buck my son filled the freezer with last fall. On the work front, we're working from home, and I'm trying to keep my students going as well as I can. I kind of feel for them: the solid ground they thought they stood on a couple of weeks ago is now shifting sand, with every day a new reality.
The cool thing about working from home is that I'm finally catching up on some spring yardwork, tinkering on some razors, and plan to do some social distancing on a trout stream soon!
Oh, and somebody needs to go and just kick those entitled spring break assholes off that beach in Florida, especially that one tool they keep showing video of. I nominate Paul for this task, as he's closest. There are many roads to sharp.

I didn’t mention it but those who know me know that I’m good on bourbon, I buy all mine by the case and some in multiple cases. I got enough knob creek to last till the next millennium and jack in all flavors, woodford reserve, 4 roses, Jim beam, talisker, McCallum, glen livet, Elijah Craig and several of the clear whiskeys and plenty of other stuff, and one refrigerator full of beer,

Thanked: 3227Repair man came and went for the refrigerator today. Upshot, it needs a new condenser motor, no parts in town, is on order, hopefully will be here middle of next week and installed. Since there is still about a foot of snow on the ground here the milk and cream can go outside for the time being. Still have to go grocery shopping for my Mother in Law who is in a seniors complex and confined to her room as are all residents there. Will bring the groceries to the front door and staff will take them up to the room. Life has changed and you have to roll with the punches. Everyone keep healthy.

I work maintenance at a hospital. Things are relatively slow here but after a shift of being around stressed out people I have no problem isolating myself when I get home!
A physical problem to me is relatively easy to work on. The "what ifs" are hard to deal with.

My original dept manager once told about how one winter a friend of his invited to spend a week at their parent's 'cabin' way up in the mountains. He accepted and they drove as far as they could then used a snowmobile towing a 'cargo sled' to get their gear and supplies to the cabin.
Once there he found it to be an older two story 'house' and the snow was so deep that they walked through an upstairs door that was on a landing!
They hauled everything in and he found a wood stove in the kitchen and a barrel stove in a central room. One room off of the main room was a fully stocked woodshed but no refrigerator so he asked his buddy how they would keep the beer and other supplies cold since the inside would be warm.
His buddy opened one door to show him a wall of snow and started cramming beer cans into it. He hollowed out an area to hold the other supplies that needed to stay cold.
They melted snow for their water and he said it was one of funnest times he'd ever had.
I would love to have some pictures of that event. Our house is as Neil left it- an Aladdins cave of 'stuff'.

Well, it was bound to happen eventually. I was exposed today...well, technically I was exposed to someone who was exposed to someone who was exposed. Did a job for a friend that I had to order stuff for and circle back. I got to the door and he comes out and says, "Hey, just so you know Linda (girlfriend) found out today she was exposed." So I glove and mask because I was working on her car. Turns out she was at work (hospital) in proximity to a doctor who was in proximity to someone who was Infected.
Very low risk to me but I still went straight home after and took a shower. Of course I sanitizered everything twice at the scene but just an abundance of caution.Iron by iron is sharpened, And a man sharpens the face of his friend. PR 27:17
