Alright, I'm just going to say this and try to clear the air. This is a weird time and has created stresses that none of us are used to. Uncertainty can make you grouchy and if I have let that color my comments toward anyone please accept my apologies. Not trying to get anyone's bud lite. Just don't want to make an ass out of myself. Man I miss hockey

There was a killer Supercross season happening until it was quashed......Chad Reed is retiring. What a way to go out.

Yeah Tom, I know what you mean. I live about 5 miles away from Gatorback track. I used to cliff dive in the limerock pits by it. Crazy stuff.
Also Henriq Lundquist and Joe Thornton are both making a final push in their careers and then this. Sucks for them too.
Browsing your website Joseph. Love that 7day set you've got there. Rodgers I think? Always wanted a set like that. Too rich for my blood though.Last edited by PaulFLUS; 03-21-2020 at 01:34 PM. Reason: Typo

Thanked: 3227We were out today to do a grocery run for my Mother in Law, she is 100 and in a seniors home where all are restricted to their rooms. Since we had to go out, topped up on our needs too. The 2 grocery stores and Wal-Mart now have seniors hours from 0700 t0 0800 daily so it was an early push. Last time out was Monday and the stores were decimated of some supplies. Today the shelves were in much better shape but we had to go to all 3 to get our needs. There are limits on some items now too. Things are improving. Now if we can get our fridge repaired we will have to go again next week.

I think we will all mostly be okay (at least until we aren't, but that applies to everybody). Medical workers, doctors, nurses, etc., in highly-affected areas are hanging on by their fingernails manpower, bed-space and equipment-wise. If firefighters were the heroes of 9/11, docs and nurses will be more so for this slower-rolling version, especially in the hardest hit areas.
Another thing that concerns me is that half this country lives from paycheck to paycheck, and work in the service sector (which as you all know is mostly at a stand-still). How many weeks will it be before desperate people start doing desperate things? I don't want to fear monger, but I think a higher level of situational awareness when out and about is warranted in this rapidly-evolving and scary new paradigm. There are many roads to sharp.

Thanked: 556Speaking of health care workers, our daughter is a nurse and her husband is a paramedic. They fully appreciate how serious this virus is even if some of the folks they deal with do not.
They wear full protective garb when interacting with patients, although that is starting to become a supply issue. They change from work clothes to street clothes at work and shower before changing. They bag their work clothes and bring them home to wash on a sanitize cycle at home.
As part of social distancing and self-isolation away from work, they order and pay for groceries and other essentials online and only leave the car to load them.
It really disturbs them when they see and hear about the fools who pretend the virus isn’t all that serious and behave as though it will not interrupt their right to a good time. Unfortunately, some of those idiots will qualify for Darwin Awards and take others with them.
This situation is unprecedented in the developed countries and will have an impact that lasts for a long time after the pandemic is brought under control and preventative measures are developed for future outbreaks. As one epidemiologist said, “We don’t want to scare you out of your wits, we want to scare you into them.”David

Thanked: 4827Talking with my daughter on the phone last night, she is isolating, but commented that it seems to be only killing the old and weak. I said primarily the old and weak are dying, every one else gets really sick and almost dies. The person to person transfer rate seems very high and no one has any immunity, so contact with other people is very dangerous. We went over some theoretical exponential math. She was much happier with isolation at the end of the conversation.
