Thanks for starting this thread Richard.

I don't know what everyone else is doing locally but the two of us have not gone out since Monday or had anyone over. Even on Monday people in retail stores were wearing gloves and the hospitals and seniors residents were screening anyone entering and limiting those that could enter for visitation to one person. The plan is to only go out for groceries when needed or medical appointments some of which have been cancelled and not by us.

Hit a speed bump in that plan today when the 2 year old fridge decided it doesn't want to work and we had to call a repair person who hopefully will solve that problem today when they come. The person doing the booking at the repair shop did ask what are now standard screening question about our health and travel history before agreeing to book a repair person. Yup, life is changing for sure.

Even though we are trying not to have close personal contact with other people some of the social isolation that brings is eased by more frequent phone calls and emails to friends and family and of course being on the forums too.

Good luck and stay healthy to all during this upheaval as long as it may last.

    Isolation? Meh

I have to weekly force myself to start my car and go someplace.
The Swiss Miss is a bit unhappy.

I am getting a lot of work done in the garage. Best to avoid unhappy wives.

Like others, we are using this time to clear the freezer. Found some tasty chili yesterday. I think it was left over from the last razor meet.

This is a good thread and i hope all of us are staying as safe as we can. Being the bread winner in my home im still working. Ive been training a new guy and that is starting to worry me. I can control my work area (truck cab) but when stuck in there with another person that i personally dont know...
I spent a lot of time in the garage working on projects yesterday. Last night i had a slight fever and headache and the wife freaked out. This morning (my monday) i didnt go to work. Just playing it safe. Im hoping work will take me back and not thing I got IT. A little headache this morning but no fever. I did do the shoping and went to 3 stores on wednesday. Scarry times.

I know the gas will slow down soon so i might not be working as much soon, but for now the gas keeps flowing. And i think im going to tell the boss that im not training any more until this virus stuff is over. Crossing my fingers he understands.
    It's just Sharpening, right?

Wife and I are at our cottage with the grand boys. The week has been pretty uneventful, but the 7 and 9-year old boys are getting bored and the two seniors are starting to show some fatigue.

We have enough supplies to last quite a while and the small town we shop in hasn’t had the run on food and other essentials that seems to have happened in larger centres. It’s pretty easy to self isolate here, but the boys want to go back to their parents in a larger city and we haven’t been successful convincing them or their parents that it’s not a very good idea. Hope it works out for everyone.

Be well , be careful and be smart. Best wishes for everyone.

I'm am right outside of Atlanta so we already have plenty of cases in the area.

Wife and I opened an insurance office last February and we are still there 6 days a week trying to establish ourselves. We are limiting the number of people that come in and trying to be really clean. We wash up and change clothes as soon as we get home now. We avoid going out. Due to health issues I don't sleep well and it must impact my immune system the way I get sick, so I'm hoping we are able to avoid it.
My MIL lives with us so she is watching our daughter all day since daycare is closed. Probably for the best though because those kids share EVERYTHING. Daughter already shared a stomach virus with me this year shortly after we got over the flu.

My wife's family is in China and they are under a lot more stress due to the quarantined cities being locked down. Because of the quarantine her sister is the only one in her household allowed to go out of the apartment when they need supplies/food. They can't work at all.

Being a bread winner myself and running a service business I don't have the option. I have to go to people's houses and touch things, no avoiding it. I just have to keep myself healthy and keep up with the hand sanitizer and wipes. Life must go on.

Edit: I should say life must go on but cautiously. A bunch of college students got it here. They heard school was being cancelled so they had a block party. One of them was infected and gave it to the rest of them. It's too bad youth is wasted on the stupid people.

Well now I’m really hating retirement. Before I would be isolated cause your gone for a few weeks at a time and the whole crews are isolated. Plus roughnecks ain’t the touchy feely guys to be passing stuff around. Not much viruses can survive our atmosphere anyway. But NOW, I’m home. But we have the supplies already. The wife is a quasi prepper and with 2 freezer and 2 refridges we got plenty, perishables are low but to be honest we can do without. We were going to be spending some time in Mississippi trying to get things done to move later this summer but that’s all on hold and we will just hunker down in the Tc compound, (but bike rides are not part of my quarantine) so life goes on and if the zombie apocalypse is here get your zombie guns and thin out the population to slow down the run on toilet paper

So far, I've been "minimally" impacted as far as routine. My work doesnt want to layoff any of our welders assemblers, so we've been keeping busy. Ironically, we're all mostly socially isolated by our workstation locations normally.

The shart in the undies is that normally we have 3 engineers, but my coworkers are on vacation this week then 2 weeks isolation. Tripling my workload for the foreseeable future.

Beer and bread making helps alleviate the stress.

Total close down is imminent for us, with the recent closure of all marine parts distributors closing down.

If I can't obtain parts for service work, I'll have nothing to do. Don't know how long before it happens, but I see it coming.

We're pretty well positioned here. I buy flour, coffee and other staples in bulk so I have months worth here and I had been to Costco just before this all broke so I'm well stocked with paper goods and frozen foods.

I can bake what I need, grind and roast my own coffee and grind my own flour.

I'm long retired so I spend a lot of time around the house anyway.

I guess we'll just hunker down till it's all over.
