I have often said that I prefer women to look natural without all the primping and dyeing and proofing. Perhaps this virus will show us some upsides. Maybe one being that if it is not available for.long enough that women may realize we really mean it: that the true beauty of a woman does not come from a bottle or tube or pen but from what God gave them naturally

Thanked: 292The crisis brought about by coronavirus will teach us what is truly important in life. I doubt that hair coloring will rise to that level. My mother's side of the family had hair color that started to turn grey at age 35 and then silver or white by age 50. Both males and females followed the same pattern, including me.
My maternal grandmother thought her white hair made her look old (she WAS old). So she colored it at home using DIY products. It always ended up some horrible shade of orange. On the other hand, my mother embraced her beautiful, silver-white hair, much like Queen Elizabeth has done. One time, I purchased a tube of Grecian Formula for Men, but I never opened the package. Natural hair color is part of who we are, no matter what color that might be.

Thanked: 3223Funny how so many of our problems are first world problems. Many other places on the planet they would be so far down the list of problem you'd have to stoop down to read them.

One time my grandmother tried shoe polish to color my grandfathers hair.
It dyed his skin orange and not the hair. Her remark was,"I should have figured that out as his head is nothing but old leather!"
He looked like an orange cueball with a grey fuzz on it.
True story.

I've told my wife she doesn't need to cover her gray hair any number of times. She does it because she doesn't like the gray. On the other hand, I cut mine so short, you can't really see how much gray/white/silver I've got.
