    Default Snowbirds

The Snowbirds in a nice tight 9 plane formation with smoke on flew a display over the city at about 500 feet/150 meters. Just lovely and cheered me up a bit.

    An example of their displays

According to their schedule, the Blue Angels will be doing a flyover in honor of Covid-19 workers in Chicago, Detroit and Indianapolis on Tuesday, May 12.

The Snowbirds represent Canadian Forces, Blue Angels represent the US Navy and the Thunderbirds represent the US Air Force. They all represent the most highly skilled flyers in their respective services.
The flybys are a fitting tribute to those who have fought on the front lines of the war against Covid-19 as are the parades of cars visiting local hospitals and elderly care facilities.

The RAF Red Arrows are still the benchmark for close formation fast jets.

Yes, a lot of countries have air display teams that represent the best of their airmanship.

I came across a vid of the Snowbirds and Red Arrows doing a combined formation display at Toronto. Wish I had of been there for that having seen the Red Arrows at Biggin Hill quite a few years ago.

This is horrible what I'm about to tell you. I didn't know who the snowbirds were and had to look them up on line. I had heard of the red arrows though. I can't believe that I didn't know that. I'm sorry Canadians!

No need to apologize, you can't know everything.

Thank you. Yes, unfortunately these things do happen with air display teams from time to time.

A Snow Bird had a mechanical failure during a team performance in Thunder Bay in 2005 and crashed with the pilot ejecting safely. Nobody on the ground was hurt in that one. There has been others also.
