Thread: I want to thank you all!

With the way this presidential voting is going and the way some people are acting on the www, i want to thanks all members for holding there tongue. This is not the place for talking politics or religion but it still seems to pop in on the forums now and than.
If your a supporter of Trump or Biden or Paul Newman I wish you luck in you guy to win. Thank you for being a serious member of our community and following the rules.

I’ve had my fill of politics for a bit. Doing a little visiting with family, including going to see a nephew who’s had it rough (drugs, jail, rehab, etc). He’s turned his life around and is doing great now. Hopefully somewhere during my time off, I’ll get a chance to see if I can get my one current razor sharp.

Also, from north of the border I'd like to say kudos for the turnout. No matter who wins, democracy can only be strengthened by high voter turnout, and it looks like a record number of votes were cast.

The only comment I have is a criticism of competitions in general and is totally non partisan. I just wish everyone could play by the rules and be good sports...on BOTH sides of the aisle. Whatever the outcome, I can accept it. Just play by the rules and there's no need to argue.

It makes it clear to me that all yall agree with me.

As an outsider, post vote I gotta ask why they didnt just have another election after all the suspicions around the mail in ballots?
Maybe it wasn’t covered on Canadian media, and regardless of who you wanted to win, it seems there was enough suspicion about it that a second trip to the old fashioned polls really could have quelled a lot of the current activities couldn’t it?
Just curious and really hoping to not start any political arguments.. To me it would have made sense is all..

I don't think we have any legal mechanism to do this. Our constitution specifies that the first Tuesday in November (roughly) is when federal elections happen. It would just throw it into more chaos.

Was there genuine suspicion around the mail-in ballots, or just allegations and innuendo? Seems to me the states have their protocols and requirements for mail in ballots - some of these were queried/challenged in the courts and the challenges were found to be baseless. Why do an entire new election just because someone "reckons", baselessly as it turns out and without legal justification, that foul play was going on?

Yea, only one election is allowed so no do overs period.

I don't want to get into it here but even if there were to be another election and the result were the same I surmise we would be in the same situation now.

The facts speak for themselves and the President has had numerous opportunities in courts to present his evidence.

I agree. The voters have voted, some more than once. Now everyone must live with the results and maybe we will all learn something over the next four years.
