    Ok, in process question.

I sun baked. Did four coats of clear shallac sanded to 400 between coats. I have since done 3 or 4 coats of UV inhibit clear varnish sanded to 400 between then on 3rd or 4th sanded to 220 to get even it out better. The varnish says I don't have to sand between but I figured I would get better results if I did.

How many times should I repeat this? Varnish recommended at least 9 coats but I'm doing more because of the sanding.

after the 9 coats and a few more, try a finish sanding. Meaning to work out any bad spots in the finish sanding up to an even higher grit like 600 or 800. If you get all uglies out and are happy then your good to go. It's a matter of preference really. When I'm doing any clear finishes I always do 3 to 6 more than recommended. But that's just me.
