I have been cutting my own hair for years. I do it every 2 weeks.
I use an Oster Classic 76 clipper. The clipper heads I use are 1 1/2 on top, 1A, 1 and 000 on the sides.
I go over the areas a few times till the clipper head stops cutting hair.
Does a great job. Very short...high and tight.
The clippers and heads have paid for themselves many times over time considering you can't get the same haircut around here for under $10.00.
$20.00 a month adds up fast.

I shaved my head myself for a good 15 years, maybe more. I only grew it out and started going to a barbershop about 5 years ago. But with all the barbershops closed because of the pandemic, I've been shaving my head again. I have to say that even though I've always disliked spending money on things I can do myself, I'd really started to enjoy getting a good haircut and I'm sorry that I've had to give it up again.

All my attempts over the years at styling my own hair have been disastrous, so I now just do a #2 shave everywhere. Sometimes I get my girlfriend to clean up around my ears.

Around here we use the blue comb of a dog clippers. I don't know what that equates to in #2 or #4.

To myself the reason to go to a barber is to be pampered. One time I walked out in the middle of a haircut because the clippers stank of burning electrical. From what I understand the brushes were bad/worn out. The barber said if I didn't like it I could leave!

Long hair on a man looks good to me if they take care of it. So many end up with greasy mop heads.

I wear a flat top and I've been cutting my own for over 20 years......maybe over 25. I always had to fix it so I said well if I'm going to have to fix it I might as well learn to cut it. Anyway, it's not that hard. It's like anything else: you just have to have courage and learn how. It's only hair. It'll grow back.

In fact I just cut it Saturday.

It's harder to take pictures of it myself than to cut it myself.

I go to the barber every 2 weeks, I just have to have it. Our barber shop was only shut down in may-July, during that time my wife cut my hair, not tough to do a high and tight, BUTTTTTTT, I’m have to grow a ponytail, and look the part of the roughneck biker hippy, old dude. I have not trimmed my beard in a month so it is pretty long, usually about a 1/2” on my chin. 3 weeks ago I got a whole bunch of them pre cancer thingys zapped on my face and head, so I stopped shaving anything but my upper face and neck.

I haven't been to a haircut place in a very long time, probably 20 years or more. I do it myself and where I can't get to the wife does. I have an old Wahl kit I use on my son (who hasn't been to a haircut place in years also) and I have a small Norelco I use for trimming myself.

I keep telling my wife I'll do hers. She doesn't need to go to some fancy beauty parlor. She doesn't like that suggestion. I just don't know why.
