Thread: 2021 fishing season

They have been catching 14 pound plus largemouths here in TX on what seems a regular basis.
I have been doing the payment plan all during covid on a little bass boat. If things are steady I will be able to get it out of hock pretty soon. It's been sitting since about '90 in a nice garage with a cover on it.
Need to holler at outback at that time and see what he recommends. Tanks and carbs were drained. That's good!
Looking forward to being on the water. Something I enjoyed before.

You still got that old Force engine, Tom.
I'm one of only a few guys, that will still work on them.

They run good, when their dialed in. But 6 gallons aint getting ya far from the ramp. Fuel hogs.

You're the man Mike. I am definitely not an angler. Still it cracks me up to hear "fishing season." That's the same as "grilling season." There is no such thing here. I grill on New Years Day regularly. I need to do more fishing.

I sold that thing at a good price. It had been sitting outside. Lots of cable/wiring needed done.

This one has a 65 Evinrude. I think it from mid eighties. Tilt and trim. Boat's been in the water 4 or 5 times.
The heir to it put new tires and towed it to HIS garage. Has a Hummingbird and a trolling motor.
Pretty neat. Old red sparkle looks like new.

Only issue it it has a name emblazoned on the sides and back of the seats......(Agressor!)

You can always have the seats re-upholstered---Ski did that with a boat he'd bought and the guy was actually able to re-do the seats in the original colors.

14 pound fish? Damn! Ive never enjoyed eating fish and would only catch one when i got lucky. Most of the time i was just out to catch a buzz. Relaxing day on the boat drinkin and smokin with friends. I bet its been more than 25 years for me since i put a line in the water.

Took another trip out to the fishin hole, yesterday. Didn't take pics this round, but the catchin was even better, than the other day.

I haven't put a line in the water since my son was still in high school. When he and his older sister were small I bought them ice poles and my son used to practice casting in the back yard.

We have what are called the Tucannon Lakes which are man made and stocked by the state.

It's a bit of a drive but the kids always seemed to have a great time. It wasn't until years later that my son would confide that due to his ADHD he hated fishing. Just sitting waiting for a bite drove him nuts. He did say that he hadn't minded doing river fishing as you didn't stay in one spot for long before you either headed up or down stream. How I wished he'd have told me years before.

Many years ago my youngest brother was still in high school, he and a friend tagged along with my dad when dad was going to cut firewood. My brother fished up stream and his friend fished down stream.

Dad said he'd downed a tree, had it cut to length and was taking a break before loading when he heard my brother screaming and hollering crashing through the brush. Seems my brother happened upon a cow elk just a few feet from him so he froze. The cow watched him for a few minutes, then laid down and birthed a calf. Once she had the calf licked clean she once again turned her attention to my brother. That's when he made a run for it. Fortunately the cow didn't give chase.

Our grandfather was a retired game warden and when my brother told him what had happened grandpa told him that he was one of the few to ever have witnesses such an event at such a close distance.

Every once in awhile my brother will bring that fishing trip up.
