Today's the day, Moderna shot a 15:15, nervous doesn't describe how I'm feeling adequately.
I'm doing it for some peace and quiet at home but I'm not entirely comfortable about it. To be entirely honest, I'm not really sure if it's the vaccine that concerns me the most or the needle. I have 8 tattoos but I'm still terrified of injections, weird eh?
Have fun watching very nervous people standing in the line.:rofl2::rofl2::rofl2:
When I went everyone was very happy and celebrating. I said to a women in line beside me "Have you ever wanted a shot so bad in your life?"
I was too young to realize it, but I'm told that that's how our parents felt about the Polio vaccine.
When I was in line, the folks did not seem nervous at all. They seemed relieved to be getting their shots.
The volunteers and health care workers staffing the vaccination site were incredibly well organized. The line moved very quickly with no backlog. The longest time spent in one place was the time they made us sit and wait to see if we were going to have an allergic reaction.
Nobody was rushed. Nobody was upset. Everyone who left looked as if a weight had been lifted from their shoulders.
Everyone has a choice.

Yes Weird, unfortunately my wife thinks much the same as you, she has a couple more Tattoos then you, but you say "Shot" to her and she recoils from it
Doesn't trust the Flu vax or this one...
I was hoping to get her on board with the J&J but that is pretty much a closed door now..
Actually in Windsor Essex SW Ontario where I live, the choice is not mine.
Masks are mandatory here and I can't enter a store or public building without one.
I suppose I could refuse to wear one on the grounds that I'm vaccinated but I have no doubt that I would get arrested.
Are they are a bit more laid back in the Niagara area?
I do not consider the mandatory wearing of face masks as an assault on my freedom of choice as it is there to help protect others from being infected by a deadly disease and if they also wear a face mask it helps protect me too. Your right to freedom from wearing a mask stops when it infringes on mine and others right to life.
Even after you have been fully vaccinate you should continue to wear a face mask as you can still get infected and spread it to others even though you yourself may feel no symptoms, asymptomatic. I have not seen anyone wearing a face mask during regular flu season because, so far, there is herd immunity from that in Canada due to free yearly flu vaccines being available. Until herd immunity is reached against Covid 19 the wearing of face masks is a good practice.
I think we all have used a public washroom and observed people leaving without washing their hands. No, I do not trust people to follow even the most basic health and safety precautions. Not everyone is a responsible individual.
Bob
I'm wondering if we will see people wearing masks during flu season. I've also heard people talking about reduced pollen allergy symptoms due to masks. So, I think it is possible that it becomes more common.
You mean using common sense ????
In 2018 when we had the worst air quality in the world for 2 weeks due to fires on 4 sides of us, I stuck a N95 on my wife and made her wear it..
But then again properly fitted N95s actually work, to bad people don't read and learn about the differences and efficacy of real masks.
Most accurate info is available from NIOSH and OSHA dated pre 1/1/20... Of course then people might learn of the actual dangers of wearing non-vented masks
Yeppers info is valuable

When folks are given freedom to choose they usually make an unwise decision. Many regret it later.
The problem with freedom is that people very often get "can" and "should" mixed up. Just because you have the freedom to do something does not mean that you should.
Maybe not the best example in the world but take for instance this scenario. You're driving down the road and some kids dog gets off the leash and runs out in front of your car killing the dog and denting your fender? In Florida at least you have the right as a motorist to require the owner of the dog to repair your car but should you? I know I wouldn't. The problem with law or constitutional freedom is that we very often lose sight of the fact that it is intended to prevent oppression not so that we can think more about ourselves than others.
I would think an animal where would not see a problem paying for the damage their pet done. If mine wrecked someone’s car I would feel it’s my animal so I should have kept better control over it. It’s not a matter of should or will, that scenario is just plain the fact. Your responsible. Maybe a better example would be , I have a right to trash and burn a flag, but should I?
Yeah I get that but who is hurt by burning a flag? I think.you suck for it but I'm not injured by it. I guess my point is that if it is someone's pet, even though they are liable I can choose to see that they are damaged also so maybe I can forego my right and endure some damage myself
A better example is your 13 year old kid trashes someone's car and is caught. Should you pay for the damage?
In some places you are responsible but in most you're not and you can't sue a child.
I have a plastic chain strung between two logs at the entrance to my drive.
The reason is that:
1) last year the yard waste guys took my logs so now it is obvious that the logs are there on purpose.
2) my drive is just dirt at the end and cars (or more often trucks) turn around in my drive, it wouldn't matter but after the rain my drive is very soft and i don't want tire tracks in it so I have to spend all my time raking to try and get it smooth again.
I might be completely wrong but, I have been led to believe that if someone decided to play jump my plastic chain and landed badly on my property hurting themselves. I could be held responsible for the injured trespasser and end up compensating him!
I heard a story about a burglar that fell through someones skylight while trying to break in, he sued the homeowner. Surely that must be rubbish, please tell me it's rubbish.
It might or might not be rubbish.

Did you see the newest study from Stanford ???
No you didn't because not ONE MSM source picked it up
Shhhhhh Don't tell anyone
Quick deny that science
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7680614/
I posted the study first rather than the link to any article because I am sure the articles will be attacked hehehehe

Funny Fact, this was what all the tests showed BEFORE 1/1/20 also
Thank you for that useful Wikipedia piece Bob.
It sounds like I could be responsible if my chain looks like fun to a kid, but if an adult is stupid enough to try to jump it, it's his lookout.
But what would happen if say in the dark an adult coming to my house legitimately tripped over it (it's only 18" high)?
Would that be my problem, if so how can anyone do anything to their property for fear of someone suing you?
Can I even have my house and yard sprayed for spiders, a dog might sniff my grass and get ill, even with signs out is it still my problem?
You are welcome. Funny what one recalls from a high school class over 50 years ago but can't remember what you had for breakfast. I'm not a lawyer or a judge so have no answers at all. Nobody can be fault proof but all you can do is try the best you can. With that and some luck most of us will never have to worry about it.
Bob
Not sure how laws work up there, but here we have to have Reflective Warning Markers on a wire or chain... UNLESS it is on clearly marked Private Property
For instance, our road is Private Property from the instant you turn off the highway, our property is 3/4 of a mile back, so I wouldn't have to mark a chain or wire but I would because they are dangerous..
You said yours is plastic so it is actually double safe for our laws
We had a guy I want to say 2-3 years ago that almost lost his head with a Wire across a road, while dirt biking, he tried to sue but he was about 1/2 mile unto the private property so it was dismissed...
Anyway that is what I know but might not mean a thing up in your neck of the woods :)
Pretty much the case here as well. You have to post a NO TRESPASSING sign or equivalent to protect yourself from lawsuits from folks who enter your property uninvited and hurt themselves. You have to do something similar if you don’t want folks hunting on your property.
We had a case several years ago of teenagers cutting through a chain link fence around a municipal dump to get access to ride their BMX bikes. Of course one broke his back and his folks tried to sue the city. Even though the kids had to cut a fence to get in, it was the posted signage that saved the city from any responsibility. Go figure:hmmm:
This is what I have.

You could hang some strips of blaze orange flagging tape on that to make it a little more obvious.
Bob
I don't know Steve,
In a neighborhood like that, down here, I think you could be liable... But I am not a lawyer nor do I play one on TV :)
I think Bobs idea of making the chain a bit more obvious makes sense if it stops anyone from landing in my drive on their face and costing me the house.
I think it just boils down to doing what a "reasonable person" would do to make things safe.

I got my second Moderna Stab yesterday. Today, I'm fine. No issues besides a sore arm where the needle went in. Not even a bruse. Guess I'm one of the lucky ones it just didn't screw with. Or I'm so screwed up the shot could do anything to help. LOL
It was in the news here in Canada that they are not going to send any more Moderna to us. I hope that's a wind up or that they will be sending enough for the second shots.
Both my wife and I had the first shot of Moderna and we were told it would be 16 weeks before the second one.
That length of time doesn't sound like a second shot to me, it sounds like another first one but I am just hoping that we will get a second one at all.
I'm glad your second shot went well Jerry.
