Yep we have much the same called Inciweb

    https://inciweb.nwcg.gov/

From the lake we could almost see into the canyon, the fire is actually on the back side of the ridge line so we couldn't see the actual drops..
About 20 years ago when we first moved up here the whole front ridge of the same area was burning..

I am pretty impressed with how fast they are attacking the fires now, they have put out several already that never got past the 1-10 acre size.. The attitude has changed especially over the last 5 years, we did have a more "Let it Burn" attitude unless they threatened homes.. Now it is hit them fast and hard the day they are reported..

At this point in time there are so many forest fires burning in North Western Ontario that the problem is there is now not enough planes and fire fighters to hit every fire as it springs up. They now have to pick and choose which ones are the most important to fight. The air quality is very bad today also with smoke blowing in.

Yeah we have been monitoring the AQI here too

It hasn't gone over 100 yet but we keep getting close, there was a point a few years ago when we were literally surrounded by fire from Cali, Canada, and Montana that we had the worst AQI in the world for a week IIRC we hit 500 or were very close to it..

The scale used for the Air Quality Health Index is a little different here. Today we are edging into the High Risk zone.

We have the same problems here in New Mexico. Most people think New Mexico and they think deserts and we have plenty but it's high desert and the whole Northern part of the state as well as areas in the south are mountains and forests and we have several fires going on. Our usual pristine air is mucked up mostly from smoke blowing in from the west. Some of the fires they just let burn if they are far enough from civilization. They need to pick their battles with limited resources.
