Best Multivitamin Brands
I've used Solgar, Twinlab, and Source Natural in the past. I don't know if a multivitamin really helps or not but I like to think it does. So what do you think: What are some good high quality brands and do you think it's a modern snake oil or something worth incorporating into your life?

I'm not a doctor, but it seems to me that vitamins are vitamins. If the pill's got 'em, it's probably ok
I usually take one a day, but lately I've just been taking a lot of Vitamin C for allergies.

Even if it is snake oil... i have been taking gnc's "ultra mega man... sport" (silly marketing name) for a few years... and feel better when i remmeber to take it... a week without it and i'm tired all the time and cannot concentrate. but that is just me. i also take 2k mg of b-12 daily that is a carryover from when i used to smoke cigarettes -- my doctor recommended it since at the time i had no desire to quit.
if memory serves me well Sigmund Freud --- used to inject cocaine to help stay focused, that little bit of knowledge is all one needs to understand psychology.Be just and fear not.

Thanked: 0I take Centrum vitamins when I'm not able to eat healthy. Unfortunately, some lower brand vitamins and supplements have the minerals and compounds you need, but in a form that your body can't digest.
As long as your diet's healthy, you really shouldn't need to take vitamins; you'll end up flushing away all the excess.

My vitamins are from Puritans pride. Real good prices on some quality supplements. Before you buy from them though do your research and know what you want. They have Centrum look-a-likes up through the really expensive megadose pills with everything under the sun all organically grown. I take what they cal VM-33 its a middle of the road multi, good balance for me high quality vitamins, all my minerals and a few herbals that I think are efficacious.

Thanked: 5I take a Centrum pill daily. I personally think they are a ploy, but my mom wanted me to take something after seeing my blood test results and bought me a big bottle, so i might as well take em if i got em
Can't say i notice a difference

I say just eat well! Man has been around a long time before the advent of multi-vitamins!
I am of the belief that vitamins work best in their natural state and in conjunction with other elements in that natural state!
Natural state being the fruit. vegetable, or other state that you would find these vitamins in naturally.Last edited by JMS; 10-05-2007 at 05:55 AM.

This is pretty much my thinking also. I don't doubt the importance of getting the correct daily amount (I think this is obvious) but how effective suppliments are in delivering vitamins/minerals in the digestive system is something I wonder about.
But I do think I can feel a difference when I do (or don't) take them ---- specifically regarding mental function and my general mood.

When i went to a nutritionist a couple of years ago, she told me it's not about brands it's about how fast and how well the pills dissolve.
