Red face Has he/she ever offered to shave you?

OK a quick question for you guys as I fear for my life....

I'm still realtively new to this straight razor malarky having been at it now for under a year but the other day my wife saw me in the middle of shaving and asked me:

"Would you let me shave you?"

    I FROZE.

Its taken me this long to get used to trusting my own hand on my face. And you can only explain away the long slit marks on your cheek so often. You tell them 'Oh I cut myself shaving' and you see them thinking 'What the hell was he shaving with, a hacksaw?'

ANYWAY I nervously tried to divert her question by asking 'Why would you wanna do that?' which wass met by the even more bizzare response:

    "I dunno. Its kinda a turn-on...."

She went on to speak about something to do with trust but rest assured I kept the blade that day. I guess i'm just wondering has anyone else been told anything similar? Go on now... if you are with a partner ask them... reply to the thread and tell me what they say. I wanna know if this is a common theme or whether I should lock up my razor and sleep with one eye open....

There's a wide line between trust and folly. Tell her that when she has two years experience shaving her own legs and armpits, that you'd be more than happy to trust her enough to let her shave you.

    A turn on...
I'd have given her my razor there and then. But maybe that's just me.

Tell her to start with your cheeks, and then let her continue if that goes well.
Actually, you might start with you chin / throat / lip yourself, and then let her finish with the cheeks and jawline so that you are already clean shaven when she is done with the razor. You know... beat the iron while it's hot...

If my girlfriend wanted to try I would let her, but she does not want to try (she did shave her legs once with a straight though). As long as one uses caution and common sense I don't think that straight razors are very dangerous to use. Just show her the correct angle, light touch, and explain to her that you can NEVER move the blade sideways while it is on the skin or else it turns into a scalpel. Have her shave her legs first to get the feel and then let her shave an easy portion of your face like your cheeks. Hopefully this will turn her on as she says and you will get a nice reward for trusting her lol.

Shaving your own legs would be weird wouldnt it? I mean, the hair grows in a direction away from you so you'd have to re-learn a technique and hand-position. The only alternative would be to shave against the grain on a first pass. Painful.

My lady has offered and I have no problem but we haven't gotten around to it. Ya see I have the best of all worlds. She is currently a critical care RN but before taking up nursing she studied to be a beautician. Part of her training was in the use of Feather type blades. She tells me that they got to practice shaving balloons. Anyway I either get a great shave or she can keep me alive until the meat wagon shows up.

Of course as turnabout, she says if I keep spending money on this stuff I'll have to shaver HER legs.

No it is no weird for them, girls all shave against the grain with whatever razor that they use (Venus, cheap disposible, etc). The hair that they have is not as thick as the hair on our face so it does not really matter which way they shave. In fact many girls just use plain water as a lubricant and no shaving cream/gel/goop/soap.

I got me some body hair, two patches on my back I will not let stay.
I let my gf's daughter take one of my straights to it. She was scared to touch me with it, saying she'd cut me bad. I told her to just be gentle and it'd be fine.
She was right. LOL. Poor kid, poor me.

Cabo i've heard of barbers being trained to shave others in this way. So I guess this thread extends to asking; have any of you ever wondered what its like/wanted to try/tried shaving someone else with a straight?
