The lining will disintegrate and need replacing about the time the jacket is just starting to feel broken in... when that happens, just have a new lining made.

I dont know where my digital camera is, but I did just get back with the jacket It was worth the price I love it and its nice and heavy.

Yes Joe, from reading their forums a lot of work is done with replacement linings and cuffs from inherited jackets and the like, so they must last for a while.

Anyway, I will get photos eventually, Im just glad I can finally move my arm enough to put on a jacket lol...not that I need one with the weather as warm as its been.

Gibson and Barnes in El Cajon Ca will do a totally custom made jacket for you They specialize in military flight jackets (I have one) and will do leather as well as fabric. They also do jump suits for professional flight crews. When I ordered mine I waited about 4 months for it. Its a thing of beauty. Also they sell all kinds of authentic military patches you can have sewn onto the jacket to make it really individual. My jacket is about three years old and it isn't even close to be broken in.

The ritziest jacket I ever owned was a gift and probably cost no more than 125.00 before rebate . It was "lost" in the only move I ever used professional movers in, along with several boxes of computer equipment. Now if I can't find it for $10.00 or less in a thrift store or salvation army, etc. I usually decide I can't afford it

That sucks, I think I still have jackets that I wore when I was 16, some of them even still sort of fit lol.

flanny, look out for that schott JL just got - apparently he's planned for some bely growth, but you never know how good of a planner he is JL you'll much rather give it to the salvation army when you can no longer use it, won't you

I've got a nice leather jacket 6-7 years ago in my old country - still not quite broken in. It is expensive for the standard there - I think it was $150 or something in the range, I like it very much though.
