Default RFID gotcha down? Never fear!

Check these out: Leather RFID blocking wallets and passport holders at a great price. I'm thinking of getting myself one of these

Neat idea. I deal a lot with encrypted frequency transmission and RF shielding is rather simple and worth while if you have anything easily read. I do have my doubts as to how easily the standard RFID could really be read in a regular closed wallet with standard equipment though (I dont have any experience with this). Either way, if I had any RFID information I would definitely protect it.

Just stick some Aluminum foil in the back of your wallet ... it would do the same job for much less.

There are RFID chips in your tires.... a congressional bill passed a few years back required that new car tires have RFID tags embedded in them so they can be tracked in case there was another mass tire recall.

But like everything else a government implements to protect its people, there is much room for misuse.

If you go to the site and watch the movie, they demonstrate with a reader, a closed leather wallet, and their wallet. At first it looks like they might be pulling your leg, but they scan it from every angle with a reader that's publicly available.

For a moment there, I thought you meant you had viking horns on your wallet. Scary...
