I.E.7 HELP PLEASE
Hi,
I need some ideas for Internet Explorer 7 which I'm having problems with at the moment. It almost seems to have started since the last auto update.
I'm at work at the moment so am just relying on my memory but for the last week or two every time I go to close a window it hangs for a few seconds and then comes up with an error message telling me that it has to close down, but not just closing one window but all of my windows.
I have looked at the details of the error message and it seems to change each time. I would like to try a screen capture but can never remember when I want it how to do it.
I suspect that it is probably one of my plug ins that I have running with IE7. I have tried doing a search for something in the MS knowledge base but perhaps my terminology is not quite right. Any ideas anyone.
Cheers
John

When you get back, copy down the errors. Does it happen every time you go to close a window? Does it do it on a particular website or any? What operating system?
Lastly, try firefox. I was a staunch believer in IE for the longest of times, but after getting tired of dealing with problems like yours, I tried out Firefox. Besides getting less viruses, I like that it doesn't create hidden history files that you have to enter DOS to delete.

Sorry to hear about your issues. I was wondering which Operating System you are running at the moment
Vista or XP
Generally speaking Vista has been a buggy and and absolute nightmare.
I would strongly consider using Firefox instead IE
As a software developer that would be my best recommendation.
To capture the screen hit Ctrl - Print Screen
Maybe you can post it here and I can give you some clue about the issue.

Firstly I would try disabling some of your add-ons. If I recall correctly, you can actually roll back your IE updates. If disabling add-ons doesn't work, try to roll it back or just plain re-installing it.

This fits, just read it all and contemplate :)
This fits, just read it all and contemplate
A very wise doctor once told me about my recently discovered diverticulosa the following words of wisdom
1) "This tells me you've been eating wrong from a very early age"
2) "Medicines will help the problems short term but the only true solution is to eat right which means cutting out the animal fats and focusing on a diet of high fiber fresh fruits and vegetables".
He didn't suggest I use yet another man made product called metamucil that most doctors would have prescribed.
Similarly I have this advise for you
1) "This tells me you've been hooked on windows for quite a long time"
2) "Consulting someone for a work around on this horrid product may provide some relief but the only true solution is to give up windoze and get linux. You may not get all of the deadly toxic websites that cater to the dictator formerly known as "B.G" but you'll be better off in the long run."
Give up the addiction. Go for linux. use the force. Don't live in the dark side.
