I just came across this thread. Haven't been keeping up with the news lately, but this is horrible. I hope you gentlemen and the rest of Californians get through this safely and without much more additional damage. And to think that while working in NV, I came across a couple of firefighters from Cali (great guys, too bad I had to return early and couldn't go with'em for a couple of drinks) there on call since the fire hazard level was fairly high down there. I hope NV firefighters are in CA to return the favor and I hope they send some help from BC. Except for the brief period during 9/11, they're truly the unsung heroes.

They have just lifted the evacuation order in Ramona! All indications suggest that my house is OK, but we will know for sure in the morning!
I appreciate the concern and all the well wishes from the members on this sight as I know the others in my situation do!
I would like to personally thank Justin (Jaegerhund), Bruno, Brendon (Custommartini), and Lou (Scarface) for checking up on me and my family through E-mail and PM's and offering me assistance through this difficult time!
With deepest humility,
Mark Avery

Hopefully everyone comes out ok, especially fellow members.
I was just reading that there is proof that it was arson. These fires are bad enough on their own, but the fact that someone would deliberately set it pisses me off to no end. People have died and lost everything because why? At least for many crimes there is a reason, but to calculatingly set fires in a way that would spread like, well, wildfire, I just fail to understand or comprehend why.

I think several of the fires were started by arson. I believe one of the arsonist (or suspected arsonist) was shot and killed when he ran from the police (by car) and refused to stop , endangering the lives of several cops.
I know how it is to be threatened by natural disaster and have had to evacuate several times because of hurricanes , but with hurricanes, you at least don't have that added frustration and anger knowing another human being has started it all.

This thread speaks volumes about the integrity of the Gentleman on this forum.
Let's keep everyone in our thoughts and I agree in regards to praying for rain, although that will introduce a new problem.... mud slides

Same here- I've had to run from my fair share of tornadoes (that doesn't look right but it is...weird), but at least I didn't have to wonder if there was some asshole out there starting them. There's just too much stress involved when you're trying to evacuate, never mind having to wonder what sicko just endangered everything you know and love.
Sorry, I just get passionate about people doing stupid things

maybe we can find the arsonist and shave them with rusty, dull, chipped blades
.... and then deny them tetanus booster shots for the rest of their lives

We still have a home! Thank God! And thanks to all of you!
I only pray that more members here fare as well as my family!
For everyone who lost their home (member or not) I pray that god keeps you well and blesses you and yours with a better future!
