    Default pocket watches?

    I prefer a pocket watch.

I am ready to graduate from the $15 Timex I have, My dad has an omega wristwatch, which I have always liked. I found this pocket watch, but dont know much about it. (its on the high end of my price range...) But I like the looks of it.

    Opinions?

Yup, I've always preferred a pocket watch (as a cellist, I can either take off my wristwatch, wear it on my right wrist--or better, have a pocket watch).

My only problem is that I have two nice old watches (an 1895 Waltham, and a similar vintage English watch), but neither of them is running now...

This is the sole advantage, IMO, of a quartz watch (which is what I have on right now, on my right wrist, where it feels out of place...)

I not so long ago switched to pocket watches as well. I use computers fairly often and having having my wrist rest on a wrist watch while typing started to get uncomfortable. I started putting my wrist watch through a belt loop to keep it out of the way, so the natural thing to do was switch to a pocket watch. Nothing elaborate or fancy yet, most of mine are quartz, but I quite like em

I like the weight of a sturdy wrist watch around my left wrist, but these days I don't bother anymore because it is too much bother taking it off and making sure I don't lose it.

Pocket watches... My pockets usually contain a roll of peppermint, a cell phone, car keys, house keys, a pocket knife and a hanky. There is no room to spare for a watch. Especially one that I wouldn't want full of dents and scuff marks.

Now, for the simple purpose of keeping time:
I have 2 cell phones. One is always one me.
I spend most of my waking hours behind one of my computers at work or at home.
The kitchen furnace has a time display, just like the microwave and the VCR.
We have a tex avery wall clock in the living room, and an alarm clock alongside the bed.
Til shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.

Howard's are great. I have several and the cream of the crop is a Series O that is in great shape. Of course a good chain is required.
